I came to do this course with no previous experience of joke writing at all. I thought stand up was about telling funny stories, but learnt that there is much more to it than that. I found it tough and challenging at times. I met the nicest and funniest people in the group and we were encouraged to bond to be there for each other. Excellent course. Great team at Komedia. The result was an exceptionally high standard and it was exhilarating to be on stage to perform after only 12 weeks.

I enjoyed the experience from start to finish, and met some wonderful people as well. Jill is top of her game and not there to just nod and tell you you're funny, except when you are. She is true to the art and will give you the tools and guidance to hone your skills and become a stand up gag writer. If you want that experience to become a stand up, or just want to have fun with like minded souls, this is for you and you should sign up now.

I am very happy to say that I thoroughly recommend this course to anyone thinking of giving stand-up comedy a try. At week one Jill establishes clear and achievable learning outcomes which are then expertly delivered, taking the class from beginner to performer in ten weeks which fly by all too quickly. It has been a true privilege to work alongside an amazing group under excellent and experienced tuition, ending in the high point of the New Act Night. If you’re considering signing up my advice would be: go for it, you’ll be so glad you did.

Wow, cannot believe how far everyone in the group came in 10 weeks of coaching with Jill! I am going to miss spending Saturday afternoons with our 'comedy family'. I've made friends for life and the buzz of performing at the New Act night at Komedia was just awesome. It's honestly the perfect first step into comedy as a career and I'm SO glad I did it. I think deep down we all think we’ve got it ourselves to make someone else laugh, right? Having often flirted with her website, like an ambivalent teenager, I finally took the plunge and enrolled on the 10 week stand up comedy course this summer. What an experience!
