Indy Hairdressing – leicester

Went in day before Christmas and I was only 5 minutes late.Had my haircut with the guy in the glasses first time with him and I was very disappointed.He rushed my hair didn’t even cut much of it and then blow dried it to the style I wanted. I was lost for words because the other times I went in I use to always give them an extra tip.And the cheek of him to say don’t worry I will only charge you £20 made my blood boil.As I walked out and took a turn round the corner I felt the back off my hair and he left the hair on my neck didn’t even bother to shave it off even the cheapest barbers don’t forget to do that lol. This place is no good I will no longer be going here ever I’d rather go back to my old local.Only reason I stopped going is because I moved far away but I don’t care for £10 at least he will take pride in his work.Unlike this place. AVOID!!!!!

Everything very clean and tidy. Only a few staff and customers and everyone wearing face coverings as appropriate Very friendly and professional. Love my post lockdown cut and highlights!

I would caution people against using this salon. I had a very bad experience with a stylist, Shaley. My main issue was that she was not properly wearing PPE. Her visor was on, but the mask was only on her chin, covering just her bottom lip. I tried to, as politely as possible, ask if she could possibly please put the mask on but she refused. On the first occasion, she said "no, because I can't breath". As she cut my hair, and came up close at times to examine her work, it made me very nervous. I once again asked her to put on her mark. She then became very rude, and said "my mom works for the NHS, I don't have corona, and it's not how you get it anyway". I didn't like the cut she gave me (not short enough), but when she asked if I was happy with the cut, I said "sure", because she was: 1. behaving rudely and annoyed towards me after I asked her to put on a mask 2. not reducing the banter/talk with colleagues as they passed by, opening her mouth wide 3. not being friendly, but wielding scissors near my hair (which made me very nervous) She also trimmed certain parts of my hair, dropping hair on my arms and pants, where I was not covered. When I tried to brush it away, she got very annoyed, saying "you need to hold still, I work here, get hair on myself, and trust me, it comes out". She wouldn't let me brush the hair off, nor move the plastic covering also to the front (only my back was covered).

Friendly and welcoming. Great service great haircuts.

Very odd experience using Indy Hair - I followed my stylist here as she is amazing but the atmosphere of the salon is off and some of the staff can be rude. After 2/3 times using them they decided to start charging me a 50% deposit when booking!! I spoke to other friends that had followed my stylist here and they were not being charged this fee, however because I wouldn’t trust my hair to anyone else I just had to pay it. When I questioned it I was made to feel like scum and that they were doing it because they couldn’t trust me?! When I came to pay the balance after having my hair done they then charged me full price and after their “mistake” it took them days to refund me. Luckily my stylist has since moved on just as I was getting to the point of not being able to bring myself to go back!

My son was treated like a Prince and had a fabulous cut and perm by Monique. Can highly recommend this salon plus the coffee and biscuits were *****
