Hell of a joke of a bank. I'd rather hold on to my money than put them in this bank. Opened my account there and had to beg and wait 2 weeks to get my card. My account was blocked for "identity theft" literally the day after getting the card. It's been 2 weeks since the account got blocked and they've been telling me to come after 2-3 business days every time I go there. Worst experience ever, especially for a student that doesn't even have time for all that unnecessary suffering. Can't even withdraw or add any cash into the account so I'm stuck to living on what I have left as cash from a month ago. Terrible. Wouldn't recommend it even to my worst enemies. I wouldn't even put half a star rating if it was in my power.

So far my experience with this bank is honestly disappointing. I was given false information about my account that caused issues for me later. In addition, they gave too many students the same appointment to open a bank account. As a result, I had to wait for 3 hours later than my appointment to actually start the process. When I tried to contact the bank for a problem, I had to wait for the phone service to answer for 7 to 8 minutes. Although the personnel were very nice, the service definitely needs to get better.

Shocking. We tried to open a joint account online. We were told we had to physically hand the documents to a branch. So we did. We waited 3 HOURS, sat at St.Anne’s square branch. The exercise was completely useless, as everything could have been done online. Now 2 weeks from opening the account we are still waiting for the telephone banking security number which means we can’t access our online banking. You know what? we are opening a Starling bank account instead.

A bank set in the delightful St. Anne’s square, and staffed by pleasant and conscientious people - but as the stickers point out , this is an institution which is knowingly destroying our climate with their huge investments in fossil fuels. This bank pretends to care whilst stealing the futures of our children and grandchildren. Switch now !

Very rude and unhelpful Cantonese speaking staff. I intended to exchange some old bank notes and got some queries regarding to moving around my global accounts. There was one Cantonese speaking lady at the customer service counter so I asked questions in Cantonese but she had a very bad attitude when answering questions and just like she had been annoyed. This is basically the worst customer service experience I had in the UK so far. It is disappointing to have people speaking in the same language but being so impolite.
