Comfy. Unfortunately, plumbing works are old and abit noisy, same goes to the air conditioner.
Compact Modern Living for Budget Travellers Located in the lively neighborhood of Little India, you may easily find varies gourmet choices: bistros, local Hawker Centres, etc. If you walk further (within 15min distance), a few malls to fulfill your shopping desire. Besides, a 5min walk could take you to the Bendemeer MRT Station for Singapore explorations. As for the room, the soundproof was quite nice; the space was compact so if you bring lots of luggage or really tall, most rooms would not fit your travelling need. Other thing, the hot water ran out quickly during shower (a minor pity). Ps. I stayed at the Superior Double Room w/ Balcony. IG / Medium / FB Page @chicve02
As other reviews have mentioned, the rooms are tiny but are completely fine for a short stay and much more affordable than most of the other hotels in Singapore. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. The staff were helpful and assisted us with shipping a parcel back home. The location is okay, not particularly close to the main tourist spots but only a short walk to the nearest metro station which will take you almost anywhere in the city.
This hotel is so nice! I have been there 2 times, the room's small but so clean and quiet, all of guys are so nice. 5 minutes walk to bus station and 10 minutes to Lavender Mrt station. A lot of food shop and convenient store around the hotel. Perfect!
Planned this staycation for my family and were looking forward to this amazingly designed hotel in the heart of city center. Service by the untrained group of staff got me wondering if I am actually in a hotel or? The room although SG clean were dusty at window ledge and the light bulbs by the bed were covered with a layer of dust. I had to do my own cleaning before going to bed. The service staffs very very strict on the rule and regulations which is understandable., however it gotten to a point of slight hostile. Something I was not expecting from the hotel. The lounge is amazingly designed, however with the piling of staff items over the bar top made it look like a home kitchen. Staffs were communicating loudly and laughing out loudly from the pantry with doors widely opened. It made the guests at the lobby annoyed. Played Christmas music at the lounge but I could barely hear the songs but the loud communications within the staffs - Laughing and communicating loudly. The public toilet on the ground floor were barricaded and got me wondering if there were deterring guests from using them. - I used the ground floor toilet regularly as the WC ventilation in the room were very weak or not working (tried placing a tissue on the ventilation but no clear suction visible)
Hotel did not adhere to my request from a month ago. Receptionist kept encouraging me to cancel the room despite having a booking.
It’s definitely one of the worst hotel in Singapore. The ratings on google are definitely misleading/ manipulating. We booked this hotel for Christmas as most of the hotels are fully booked. As you can see in the recent reviews, room was dusty and furniture was old. The owner responded promptly to all the negative feed back but nothing was done to improve. At night there were loud singing in the nearby karaoke/ pub. There is totally nothing good about the hotel, service, location despite it’s located at the heart of Singapore but too many hooligans around the place which ruined it.
Terrible service. 0/10. Don’t stay unless you love being blindsided. Booked a twin bed room, but got one king bed. The hotel lobby was really tiny and did not allow guest to bring visitors into the room, which would be fine if they stated in on their website, but they did not. So the receptionist kept urging my friends and I to cancel the room and not providing us with any solution to our predicament of being stranded at the last minute without a room.
Summary: Okay to stay in if you're okay with inadequate cleanliness. We stayed in the most expensive room available, the suite with the bathtub. I have to say that it was utterly filthy when we went in. There were empty chopstick wrappers left near the dustbin, wallpaper were peeling, plugs were loose and misaligned, holes in the bedspread, dirt on the carpet in the walkways that clearly had not been vacuumed and mildew all over the place in the toilet. Worse of all, there were plenty of hair left in the corners of the room by previous tenants. I guess it is a case of paying for quality, since it is a fairly inexpensive boutique hotel, I guess. But seriously, seeing the hairs from previous tenants were pretty gross. I also don't really understand why a hotel with a pretty decent view would end up putting bars all over the windows. It kind of feels like you're a prisoner looking out, with all the bars blocking your view. The bathroom's hot water also ran out in about ten minutes. Neither of us could get a proper hot bath at all. At the end of the day, it is what it is. Despite all the filth, it performed its job well enough. The aircon was cold, the bed was comfortable. If cost is an issue for you in booking a staycation, I guess Hotel Yan might work? But the lack of cleanliness was definitely an issue for us.
