Sadly now little more than a building site, but you can still walk round the outside if you like the sight of metal fences and the odd squirrel

4/ 5

Surprisingly large open quarry just with access just off the ring road by the railway bridge. Motorbike trails make up most of the main quarry. It also has some good mountain bike trails in the woods to the side near the ponds. Red with some black features, loamy, rocky, bit of all sorts. The opposite side of the quarry has some seriously steep black drops.
