The staff in this shop are so helpful. A fantastic range of stock in all departments. Particularly appreciate the wild bird section and always enjoy browsing the plants here. Thanks so much Homebase. Already looking forward to my next visit.

The staff are really rude I had to wait until 2 workers behind the till stopped or ended their conversation. They weren't helpful at all They seemed to be annoyed that i had interrupted them. I visited the store on April 1st at around 13:00

Thanks to Joe who after telephone call for help on discontinued tiles. Stack them and saved them for us to collect that evening as we travelled 33 miles. Thanks again Joe much appreciated.

This place is an enigma. They have loads of stuff you want, but nothing you need. The shelves are bare in the screws and nails, but they have loads of options for great deals on cushions. Want a drawer handle? Nope, have a super cool wallpaper. I mean I love it here, I could look at silicones for hours, but where are the hacksaw blades? There is one awesome member of staff, I didn’t know his name but he is tall and majestic and knows everything. He didn’t even get angry when my mum and I had a fight about paint and he had to remake it. So all in all, it works out in the end if that guy is working. Don’t shop here for nails and screws at the moment.

Under no circumstances would I recommend anyone to get Fraser Arnott - who is one of Home base`s recommended kitchen fitters - to fit a kitchen for the following reasons:- *We had to ask Fraser to come back one week after he had fitted our homebase kitchen to realign the integral fridge door which he had left squint. He made it clear by his attitude that he was most annoyed at having to return to fix his work.This was despite us having paid him £2000 cash for fitting our kitchen (as requested by him), which had included an extra £80.00 tip as a thank you. *A couple of weeks later we noticed that the pelmet which sits underneath one of the wall units was loose, due to him having forgotten to screw it to unit. However, due to his attitude when he had returned to correct the integral fridge door, we decided not to phone Fraser again, who had displayed an attitude problem once he had received payment from us. *Last week, we noticed one of the wall units was falling off the wall, even although it has only been 3 years since Fraser Arnott had fitted the kitchen. (I had fitted the previous kitchen in the same house, and none of the units ever fell down the 12 years it was up, even although I am not a kitchen fitter, professional or otherwise)! * When we texted Fraser about the unit starting to fall off the wall, he accused us of having tampered with the units, and causing them to fall off the wall ourselves. When we pointed out that we had never attempted to move any of the units, and would have had no reason whatsoever to do this, since we were perfectly happy with the position they were in, he still refused to come out unless we paid him yet again, since his work is only guaranteed for one year. *When we asked Fraser where it was stated that his work is only guaranteed for one year, he refused to respond. *When we also asked Fraser if he is a member of Edinburgh Trusted Traders, he alsorefused to respond. Although we told Fraser if he failed to respond within 72 hours we would put an honest review about him on social media, he has still never bothered to reply. It is quite obvious from Fraser Arnott`s lack of response that he thinks he can get away with shoddy workmanship without any repercussions, just because he is one of Homebase`s recommended kitchen fitters.
