Holmwood House glasgow

A historic jewel in the Glasgow South location not widely known and has been used by many people throughout the years including a convent. Work is currently going on including research into the buildings history and is well worth a visit.

Unbelievable venue for our daughter's wedding. Gorgeous grounds, rooms so atmospheric. Champagne reception in perfect location. Staff so helpful and professional. Thanks so much.

Upstairs undergoing renovations, (should be all open now), so it was pay by donation to see the downstairs. Best guides ever: knowledgeable, warm and made us laugh. Wee tea room. Impressive house and garden.

Very first house by Alexander"Greek" Thomson, really amazing architecture. Fantastic restoration by NTS. Nice cafe also.

Idiosyncratic house exemplifying the distinctive style of Victorian architect Alexander 'Greek' Thompson. The house is lit as if under gas lighting so unfortunately on a poor weather day it's difficult to see some features. Guides were helpful in explaining much of the decorative detail.
