Nice hotel and really friendly staff with a great breakfast. The rooms are old and dated like a lot of Hilton hotels but it was clean and had everything you needed. Fine for a night or 2 on business.

If your thing is looking at lovely hotels and nice rooms this is the hotel for you. However if you are looking for a hotel to sleep in, maybe not so much. The hotel decor is lovely, and the staff on check in really helpful. There was no upgrade available with my Hhonors membership tonight but I was told I’d be put in one of their best standard rooms instead. The issue came to when we got back ready for bed to find the room physically shaking from the music downstairs. We initially used the hotels messaging system to ask when it would stop but received no reply. Instead we called down to reception and you’ll never guess the response. The music will continue until 12:30! They did offer to request the base be turned down but their main suggestion was to supply us with earplugs! I’m not sure if I should check with future hotels if earplugs are necessary? In the meantime I’ll be avoiding this hotel in future, and I suggest you do as well.

Our go to hotel when staying in Glasgow, staff are great and very helpful. Rooms are a good size and are tastefully decorated, complimentary tea coffee and water but you also get slippers and bathrobes(the robes need to stay tho) nice bar which can get busy at weekend and the breakfast is buffet style and very good. We will continue to use this hotel.

At booking I asked for a quiet room, and was reassured that I will get one. However, the room I get was at a corner of two streets. The windows did not seem to be significantly sound-proof, so it felt that I am sleeping on the road. Cars did not stop streaming by most of the night. Additionally, the bedding had several stains.

It nicely situated in the West End, bit cheeky to charge to park imo. The room was fine but the breakfast was lacking a few items when we went down, which was about an hour before they stopped serving.

Reception and bar lovely with lovely reception staff. Rooms are nice but a lot of outside noise can be heard from the hallway. Not as nice as the Doubletree down the road which I had transferred from. Sorry...

2/ 5

Disappointing experience at check-in My parents recently booked the Grosvenor Experience deal for £99 which included an overnight stay, dinner and two gin cocktails. This was a great deal and my mum was in touch directly with the hotel prior to arriving to confirm the date of their stay and to reserve a table for dinner. No issue was raised about the booking at any point when my mum had been in contact with the hotel. The staff member she spoke to confirmed that they were booked in for the Grosvenor Experience and confirmed the date of their stay and dinner reservation. In contrast to my parents’ dealings with staff prior to arriving, staff members at check-in made them feel like second class citizens: They first stated that the price on the printed booking confirmation was wrong and that my parents would need to pay the difference. They then asked my mum to repeat the same confirmation number several times rather than taking the initiative to note the number down or ask to see the printed confirmation number for themselves. They made several unprofessional remarks including; that they had never heard of the Grosvenor experience, and that the deal was ‘very good for that price’. They also expressed surprise that the deal included gin cocktails. These remarks made my parents feel embarrassed and were said openly for anyone in the vicinity to hear. They found the booking confirmation eventually but still insisted that my mum find an electronic copy of the email confirmation and send it onwards to the hotel’s email address. My mum obliged out of sheer embarrassment. The staff then shouted through to the bar that my parents were ‘coming through for two gin cocktails’ rather than asking my parents whether it suited them to have their cocktail experience at that point or at a later point. My parents said it felt rushed when they were already flustered after having been quizzed about the validity of their booking. It’s unprofessional for staff at a well rated hotel not to be appraised of customer deals, and my mum and dad expected at the very least to be treated with respect rather than be met with embarrassment or borderline suspicion. It’s important to stress that my parents were full of praise for the bar staff and restaurant staff who made them feel welcome during their visit. They enjoyed the remainder of their stay but the check-in experience has clearly had a negative impact given that it’s the first thing they mentioned about their stay to me.
