I write this, sat, eating my pauper's breakfast of 2 poached eggs on a single slice of toast. One of the many mean and miserly breakfast options available for those who stay at The High Road House Hotel at a cost of £325 per night. Other generous options include a single croissant, a half English or a bowl of porridge. Admittedly, I am not a member of the Soho House group (actual members may receive the full English instead), but I am a fee paying guest, and I am surprised at how little is available for the money. One benefit is that breakfast is available until 12pm. This is essential as you will not have gotten to sleep until at least 1:30am the evening before, when they turn the music down in the bar downstairs. Or alternatively, you may be woken early by the slightest movement of guests in the rooms upstairs or in the corridor, which is as easily audible in your room as the low-fi beats emanating from below. Service is fine, but not great, with the sort of overly pally behaviour you may expect from 'trendy' establishments. The room however is nice, well sized, and nicely decorated, with lots of nice Cow Shed cosmetics in the bathroom. Those that we don't use during our stay I may end up pouring down the toilet, just to feel like I've reached some sort of economic parity with the hotel considering the breakfast offering. Overall, I will never come back, nor will I visit another Soho House Group hotel. I'm not entirely certain why people pay money on top of subscriptions for the experience. Possibly, because treated crap is cool? I'm not image conscious enough to hang around and find out.

Service was nice. But…… they charged me 2 pounds for an extra slice of toast which is extortionate as I only got a tiny slice with the a huge breakfast. Also added one pound to a homeless charity to my bill without asking…. Giving money to charity should be optional. NOT compulsory. Very very disappointed. Sort your business out High Road House. Im Local to the area but would NOT come back again.

Only had coffees but offered tap water before ordering which was a nice touch. Very good coffee and excellent service. No being hurried to leave and excellent choice of free papers. Absolutely spotless everywhere including toilets Cooling stylish decor. Spacious toilets but only slight minus was still had the old fashioned blow driers which are bad for the environment and not as hygienic as towels. Could spread covid. Otherwise absolutely brilliant place

This place has more hype than quality. We have recently moved to the area and went to have lunch at this place that always seems full of people. The expensive menu is quite limited, and the food we ordered was nothing special. It took half an hour to get it and it was OK, nothing more. The bill seemed a bit expensive but since I was in a hurry paid for it. At home, I noticed they had added a "non-alc beverage" that we never ordered to the bill... Note that the only beverage except water we ordered was a coca-cola that also is specified on the bill, a full 20cl of it... This place doesn't care for the customers, they know they have enough of them anyway so if you go there expect nothing more than an expensive bill. Better stay away from it. There are plenty of good restaurants in the area.
