I had an extremely silly issue today, yet a very lovely man directed me in the right way ;). Words cannot explain my gratitude. All the best & God bless you!

Check out was quick and efficient. Check in was poor. Charged a premium for an additional day rental 115 GDP!! Rear seats were unsecured when we pulled out. First time braking, seats flew forward, with my kids in the back. Had to pull over and lock the seats in. 1 seat wouldn't secure. Carried it in the back for the entire trip. Unacceptable. So disappointed.

When we picked up the car there were small surface scratches all over it and a broken plastic grill. I brought it to their attention and they blew it off, said it "didn't matter", but when we returned the car, they tagged it and are sending us a bill, despite explaining the situation to the inspector! The car itself was good, decent size and excellent on gas.

Hertz is a corrupt company running a scam. Without going into all the details, they overcharged me and billed me 90 pounds for scratching a wheel which I did not do. Do not use this terrible company. They have a system worked out to rip you off.

“there is currently no one to take your call” 🤮 Since days we can't reach one of them by phone. We tried it over 20x times. And they gave us a car with a flat tire we recognised to late.

Poor customer service throughout when I rented a car in June, especially from the main customer service centre. I did not get chance to fill my car up before dropping off at Hertz Inverness and was subsequently charged £120 for what was £30 of fuel a week or so later when I returned home. The handover at Inverness was shambolic, no signs of where to drop the car, no formal handover. Upon querying the ludicrous charges and asking where in their terms and conditions it stated such a charge could be levied, they had no credible answer. Referred the case over to BVRLA who found in my favour as Hertz put up no defence. It would seem they have a policy of shafting customers and hoping the majority of people don't complain so they maximise their profits.

Avoid - been a customer for months. Been charged for a valet on my car I handed back and given a new car which is a shambles for amount we’ve been charged also it’s not clean!

The lady who serviced us on 5/1/2020 was great. We were flying home to Australia the next day and first leg from Glasgow to Manchester was cancelled, she gave us upgrade & she was very understanding. So thank you sorry I can’t remember your name😃👍

Americans Beware! Hertz.UK has a “Special Offer” for You. Americans do not look forward to driving a car with a manual transmission. Hertz.UK knows this so they happily offer you an upgrade to an automatic. The problem is that you can rent the same automatic transmission vehicle directly from Hertz’ website for 40% less than you will pay if you accept their “Special Upgrade Promotion.” My guess is that this “Special Offer” is only offered at airports and other places where American tourists are most vulnerable. This story is not made-up. It actually happened to me at the Glasgow, UK airport. I didn’t find out that I had been ripped off until we returned home. That was four months ago. Despite me providing proof in the form of a website screenshot, Customer Service has refused to give me an explanation. I even wrote a nice email to their CEO. She couldn’t be bothered and had one of her minions give me a nothing response. #SayNoToHertz You’ll be glad you did. There are just too many better alternatives. By the way, their “Best Rate Guaranteed” slogan is an even bigger scam.
