Fantastic place for a day outing in the scenery village town of Matlock. Frequent service of cable cars back & forth. Tickets can be purchased online in advance or at the ticket counter located in the entrance. Nice view of the surroundings from the inside of the cars when climbing up & down the hills. Staff are very helpful in helping & providing information. There are many activities on top of the cliff with guided tours, restaurants, ice cream parlour, children play area, theatre & gift shops. Toilets & all other facilities are very clean & well maintained. Due to the pandemic there are some restrictions & social distancing in place. All guidelines are well posted in all locations. Its well worth a visit specially for kids. Pay & display car parking is available at the train station. Will need to queue up during busy periods

A short ride up in the clean and well-tended cable cars gives you the first glimpse of some of the breathtaking views you'll get throughout your time at the Heights of Abraham. We spent the whole day at a relaxed pace, and weren't short of things to do. Both of the cavern tours were different and interesting enough that that they are both worth doing, with some very knowledgeable staff (particularly in the lower cavern). As mentioned there are some stunning views of the area, some accessed by walking the trails in the area others seen from "the summit" (the main attraction area). I've been three times, and I daresay I'll visit again. The Vista Bar and Restaurant is also worth a visit whilst you're here- if I was reviewing that on it's own it would get four stars. On arrival we were initially forgotten about, but eventually received menus and were able to order. The nachos are amazing- definitely order these. They are the best I've had anywhere. Most of my burger was most nice and it was well constructed; however the use of prepackaged cheese squares (the 'real cheese' type) seemed to dry the meal out. This may be due to an anti-caking agent, or the fact that it simply hadn't melted. Also, chopping boards are for preparing food, not for serving food. You have the ability to make delicious food, you don't need the gimmick. All in all it was a lovely end to our visit (and our holiday) Helpful review? Hit that like button!

Great place to explore, great views in the cable car. Really enjoyable tour of the mines. Good day out but if you are scared of heights the cable car won't be for you.

Great little trip. NHS discount or Blue light card if you have one. Parking at the station is £6 for the day and a 4min walk to the cable cart. Nice little trip to the top. 3 cafes at the top. 2 play areas one for smaller kids. One for larger kids. Ice cream parlour too. 2 caverns to explore. Amazing views. Nice pathways to walk along. Really good value. Lots of places to sit and have a picnic with a fab view if you dont want to eat in the cafes. Spent 4h here and didnt see everything as went slowly area to area with a 2 year old. Worth visit if you have half a day spare.

A great place to have a family day out; cable car ride to the top offer beautiful views, lovely walks, very interesting guided tours of two lead caverns, two well designed playgrounds, souvenir shops and restaurant. It's best to arrive early to enjoy the area less crowded. Good footwear and warm clothing are also advisable.

A beautiful day out, regardless of the weather. We were lucky enough we only had a bit of rain and the rest of the day was glorious sun. Amazing views and a great day out for those with children as well. The caverns are full of interesting facts and our guide was superb, very friendly and knowledgeable. The scenery and views are impressive from the top.

We really enjoyed our visit here. Parking at the station is your best bet if you get there early enough. Spaces are rather limited. The cable car ride is good fun with excellent views from the short ride. The caves are only visitable as part of a guided tour. If you are short on time or the queues are long, I'd recommend the higher cave tour. The lower one felt a bit of an anticlimax in comparison. The food in the restaurant was better than we expected. Best to book during busy times though as the queue for the downstairs cafe was quite long. Plenty of other things to do here, especially to keep kids happy. Highly recommend!
