Heaton Park manchester

Been here many times, it's especially nice in the summer time if you fancy a walk or going for a picnic. But this is specifically about bonfire night; the fair was pretty good and the firework display was one of the better ones in recent memory. But... do remember winter+thousands of people = An absolute packed mud bath. In hindsight I should have gone to one closer to home with far fewer people.

This is a great place to go for families. There's a fantastic playground for children and a nice cafe/restaurant which is perfect in non-peak times but can get very crowded at weekends. The Treetop adventure course looks great for older children and active teenagers.

Spectacular Lightopia show at Heaton Park. Highly recommend for families, friends, etc... parking is available but you have to pay a flat rate of £3. It can be quite muddy, so best to take a pair of wellies! Lovely display of a variety of animals, flowers, fairies..the lot! And the light show over the lake was breathtaking! Hot drinks and snacks/food is available and there is on site toilet facilities. Definitely a place visit.

Great park to walk round. There are playgrounds for children, a boating lake, a couple of cafes, a heritage tramway and some animals to see. It has the highest point (not very high) in Manchester so it means views of the city. Lots of grass and fields to wander, it's really good. We are lucky to have this on our doorstep.

Great place to go with friends and family. Brilliant playground as well, but as we went in winter and we live in Manchester... We missed more covered spaces for picnic or just to share, specially when it's cold and wet. There is a restaurant available, but we were looking for a space more in contact with the nature where we could eat comfortably the food and drinks we brought .

I used to go to Heaton Park in 60s with my parents. I remember it is as a good day out. I now have grandchildren and remembered the good times. I was pleasantly surprised how good the park is with plenty to do from small children upwards, including teenagers and adults. There are two modern play areas, boating Lake, animals and a cafe. Parking is reasonable free before 10 and after 5. During the day parking is £1, £2 or £3 for 1hour, 1-3 hour's or over 3 hours.

Such a big park! Lots to do here - great for anyone really, with footpaths and trails leading in many different directions, and ample car parking too. It was beautiful in the autumn, with the fallen leaves and gorgeous colours all around, but I'm sure it would be equally lovely in summer, spring or winter. A real gem of a place, and well worth a visit.

I love this park. Easy parking, plenty spaces. Not expensive to park either. Lovely clean park with well kept paths and grass areas. The children's play areas do get busy but the kids love them so that's to be expected. Coffee, food, ice cream all available. Public toilets too.

I absolutely LOVE this park. Loads of parking, about 5 different entrances. Great walks. Lovely little cafes. I support disabled people who have different levels of ability but this parks accommodates all of them. Always somewhere to walk and something to see

Lovely park, it has something for everyone, kids really love this place as the playground is very modern, it has many green spaces which are perfect for a picnic, also a cafe. Ducks pond is a nice feature. The views of Manchester from the top of the hill are good. As I have little kids I would appreciate if they were to add some more toilets around the car park.
