5/ 5

We had a lovely holiday at Rockley Park. When we arrived we were a little dismayed as we had believed our prestige caravan would have a decking, which it didn't. So the patio set we had paid for was a little redundant at first. However we decided to get on with it and luckily our van had a large paved area outside so we were able to make use of it in the end. The first day we decided to order Cooks fish and chips, which unfortunately I wouldn't recommend. The fish was grey and watery and the sausages were triple-cooked (or looked it at least). They were very kind when we returned the order but the replacements we received were no better. So, we just didn't go there again. My daughter enjoyed the bungee trampoline, swimming pool and evening shows. The beach was a little disappointing at first, when the tide is out it can really look a mess! But we went back when the tide was in and we all had a great time, it's also a fantastic place for watersports. Unfortunately during our stay I fell ill outside the main entertainments building and required an ambulance, I can't praise the staff enough, they looked after me until the paramedics came and I felt I was in good hands should I have gotten any worse, they also took care of and entertained my daughter until my Mum could care for her. So that's why Haven Rockley Park is getting 5 stars from me, yes some things could have been better, but they could have been worse too. It would feel wrong to give any less than 5 stars as the staff were so amazing.

Had a really lovely week. Caravan was surprisingly spacious with plenty of storage and housed everything needed for cooking etc. The beds were not the most comfortable, but the bedding was clean & fresh. Renting towel bales was a good plan, saving suitcase space: Two sizes - bath sheets (very big) & hand towels. You need an entertainment pass to access all the facilities - however, some activities do require further payments, such as pot painting & trampoline bungee - both of which I highly recommend. Swimming is included, (pools are kid friendly, small & an adult can stand I'm the deep end) as are the daytime & evening shows, but you do need to book for those & they're very popular. The site staff & entertainment team are lovely, friendly & work hard to make your holiday a good one. Ate at The Mash & Barrel a couple of times: The big breakfast is fab value for money, very tasty & sets you up for the day. Had one evening meal there too, it wasn't the best - service was slow, there was a wait on food & when the food arrived it was bland, warm & obviously ping & ding. The on site chippy was expensive, but the cod & chips combo were delish! There's also a Poppa John's Pizza- they deliver to your caravan for free & their food was also very tasty. Have to give a shout out to Ian of the activity team - a naturally funny & happy guy who clearly loves his job & is incredibly good at what he does. My granddaughter (just five years old) decided she wanted to try the trampoline bungee, I didn't think she'd like it, as it goes high, but Ian's friendliness & reassurance had her enjoying it's dizzying heights - in fact, she kept yelling 'Higher'. Overall, a great stay, lots to do both on site and locally too. As Arnie said "I'll be back" !!!
