I have passed this woodland many times and wondered whether it was worth a visit. Today I thought I would. There isn't any parking specifically for the wood, so I parked at the entrance to the public footpath that leads to Arrowe Brook Road. After crossing the road I entered the wood and immediately noticed a smell of sewage. Whether there are drains discharging into the Brook or whether it was just stagnant water, it wasn't a pleasant start. The wood itself is quite pleasant, quiet and peaceful, just the burbling of the stream as it meandered along. The wood is not that large and at it's end is a kissing gate that connects to a public footpath, Thingwall to Thurstaston. The walk through the wood and back only took 30 minutes so I suppose it's OK.
