My stepson was sent here after being sectioned by the police on a 136 it was supposed to be a place

1/ 5

My stepson was sent here after being sectioned by the police on a 136 it was supposed to be a place of safety ,he had tried to take his own life the day before twice and was hearing voices telling him to do it, he was very poorly and suffering from severe psychosis and needed to be kept in for his own safety. He had been in the year before with the same symptoms and sectioned on a 28 day order !!! This time He was taken to A and E first by ambulance as he had taken a number of tablets, for observation, then to Harplands the next morning, he had a short 10 min assessment then they let him go asking him to self refer they didnt even let his family know he had been released if it wasnt for his neigbour seeing him entering his flat we wouldn't have even know he has been releasedđŸ˜¡ We tried looking after him all that day it was very distressing for us as a family we were drained we tried ringing the crisis team for support but were on hold for nearly an hour and when we finally got through we were told someone would ring us back it took nearly 3 hours for them to call us back! Cutting a long and very distressing story short my son committed suicide that night and now our family are devastated and broken. He was let down badly by the doctors at this hospital and I know hes not the only one this is happening to its happening alot this place seriously needs looking into and I completely believe all the bad reviews on this site and the good ones are just laughable they are letting seriously poorly people down every single day and something needs to change NOW
