Halfords glasgow

To review you must give at least one star. I wouldn't even give them one star. I went for my MOT in November only to turn up and be told they didn't have an MOT tester in their employment, despite me booking it in October. No phone call to cancel. Nothing. Had to drive out to Kirkintilloch to get it done - huge inconvenience. My husband booked his car in for his MOT in October to have it done today. He phoned last week to check they had a tester - yes, they have a tester. We turn up this morning to be told tester is not in!!!!! No phone call AGAIN to cancel. When I spoke, at length to the area manager in November, he assured me these issues would be addressed, in particular the communication issues. I cannot believe an organisation of this size cannot pick up the phone to cancel MOTS. The guy in the branch said he is on his own and doesn't have time to phone people - but he has time to deal with angry customers turning up at the centre? This does not make any sense whatsoever! The time he spent dealing with us at the desk and phoning other branches, without success I may add, he could have phoned us at 9am and cancelled. I got a free MOT with my last debacle, but after today, I won't use it. Halfords Clydebank are finished as far as I am concerned. Their staffing issues and their inability to communicate with customers is outrageous.

Booked car in for a service online. Immediately got a very bad impression from the garage on dropping the car off at 08:30 but had already paid or I'd have left and gone elsewhere. Got a call from the garage in the afternoon saying they couldn't get an oil filter and could I collect the car and and re-book. As this was inconvenient I offered to leave the car with them another day to which they agreed. they called late the following day and on collecting the car I noticed the service light was still on and there was a brand new, unused air filter in a box in the foot well (I assume they were trying to pass this off as the one they were supposed to remove). Got home and inspected the car to find that nothing whatsoever had actually been done yet they had taken payment and issued an invoice. After dealing with customer services I agreed to take the car to the Paisley branch who inspected it and confirmed the car had indeed, not been serviced. This was eventually put right and the car serviced the following week at the Paisley branch whom I can't fault. I would probably not use Halfords again, certainly not at Clydebank.

Turned up to get roof bars and roof box. Almost £400 about to spend, but couldn't fit it until after the weekend! Pointless trip.

Poorest of all the Halfords stores , ill equip and staff have zero knowledge of products and cars , as a mechanic myself I tend to only use them if I need something asap , save yourself hassle and use Eurocar parts for motoring needs , as for bikes. There good at repairing punctures at best. Such a shame Halfords you could do better.

How much can you pay someone for experience?! My 16 year old Scott was fixed today. Its the first shop, (out of 6 Glasgow shops), that could fix my brakes. He knew exactly what he was talking about! He was quick, polite and professional. I think his name is David and has been working there for 20years. Also had me book in a service... He has completely changed my view of Halfords DO NOT LET THIS GUY GO!

Had to get a headlamp bulb fitted and was in a bit of a panic as it was near closing time and getting dark. Both staff members were very helpful and friendly and completed the job quickly and efficiently. Yes, I’ve now figured out how to do it myself but I’d rather leave it to the experts and know that it’s done properly and safely. And quickly 😂 I always use Halfords for things like this and I trust their knowledge and expertise. Been using them for over 20 years now and I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

STAFF WERE VERY HELPFUL & KNOWLEDGEABLE ON SUBJECT MATTER ON MY TIME OF VISIT. DEALT WITH EFFICIENTLY. WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND.

Shut down, so not too good still better than kwik fit though.

Great customer service. Staff were friendly and very informative. 2 weeks wait on a bike which is understandable due to the current situation but all in great experience all around.
