I’m afraid to say I can’t rate the actual treatments at the Halcyon Spa, but I can comment on the service. A friend booked my partner and I a Halcyon Escape journey after we lost our home in the recent Northern Rivers floods. Unfortunately, my partner had to travel to Europe to see family so we had to change our booking dates and couldn’t enjoy the treatment together as there was no availability for two people. We called about having the lunch included in the package together and arranged to have the treatments on separate dates. The lunch was confirmed but on arrival the Spa team couldn’t find my booking, so I paid for the included spa menu, no problem as it was delicious and we had a lovely afternoon. The night before my scheduled treatment I received a call from the spa team to confirm my appointment. Unexpectedly I had spent the last 3 days at the Royal Brisbane hospital emergency ward with a sibling in a serious condition and it was unlikely that I would be leaving Brisbane any time soon. I explained this to the Spa reception team and asked whether I could postpone or give the treatment slot to a friend. After discussing with a manager, the receptionist confirm that she had found someone else for the booking. I assumed that the spa team would call me back at a more convenient time with an alternative date. The call never came. In normal circumstances if I had forgotten a booking I would expect this result, however in this situation I expected some compassion. We’ve hosted several events, dinners and lunches at the Halcyon and are always recommending it as destination venue for entertaining. Unfortunately, this experience has left me feeling really disappointed. I am not sure I will return.

Went to have some oysters and a bottle of champagne, around 1pm, sat down then were told we could not stay as this was exclusive to guest only till 3pm. The restaurant had 2 diners only, guest were around the pool not drinking or eating!! Really!! Even after all this Covid, they did not want the patronage. There went $300 walking out the door!! Will not be back. Waitress wasn’t even overly hospitable either!!!

Nice spot by the water to take a break and a lovely open air dining room. Drinks are decent, but the oysters were just not worth the price. My fault for ordering on a Tuesday, so I'll say 4.5 out of 5. Staff were pleasant and good ambience.
