This Medieval and Tudor manor house is an absolute gem. Inside, there is a fine example of a medieval kitchen; and an Elizabethan long gallery - the most modern room in the house! The exterior walls are adorned with climbing roses and there is a beautiful terraced garden. Haddon Hall is a popular choice as a film and TV location. A restaurant and gift shop complete the visitor's experience.

Went there a few years ago but the memory of its quaintness in a beautiful countryside has never left me The most beautiful place in the country, I say. It feels real, authentic and a great step back in history. It's not ostentatious like Chatsworth, has a strange homely feel, the whole place just envelops you from the moment you walk over the lovely bridge over the river to the Hall and a most wonderful courtyard greets you with a chapel to one side with 15 century frescoes. Dark and moody inside, steeped in history, full of artifacts. I would love to live there!! Don't take my word for it, just visit it!

Haddon Hall, near Bakewell, Derbyshire, a former seat of the Dukes of Rutland. 🏯 It is currently the home of Lord Edward Manners (brother of the current Duke) and his family. 🌄 In form a medieval manor house, it has been described as "the most complete and most interesting house of its period". 🌇 The origins of the hall date to the 11th century. 🖼️ The current medieval and Tudor hall includes additions added at various stages between the 13th and the 17th centuries. ⛲

It more than lived up to expectations. Beautiful house and gardens. Staff were very friendly and helpful. They came across as genuinely wanting visitors to enjoy their visit to Haddon Hall. My big tip would be NOT to use hall postcode to get there, it will take you up a track to the hall. You need to park in Haddon Hall official car park which is situated on main road close to the hall. It is only a short walk from the car park to the hall entrance.

Amaizing to see parts of the floor being worn out by the thousands of steps previous generations. The place was surprisingly above expectations. Way too much details to cover in a review. The cherry on top was the restaurant based at the location. Finally food that actually has good taste. And the deserts were spectacular...we ate desert there and had some more for takeaway.

Haddon Hall is a great place to visit for all the family. There are interactive talks which were really engaging and the gardens are stunning. There is also an excellent restaurant in the grounds which does delicious food. Will definitely visit again!

Hadden Hall has a lovely warm feeling about it. I believe it's the only stately house to not have been damaged in the war. You can tell it was a loving family home with no nasty skeletons in the closet. Definitely worth a visit though very pricey for what you get. No real gardens or land to explore just a section of the house. The restaurant is lovely with home cooked food and obviously popular as many tables reserved on a Thursday.

Lovely place to visit, peaceful and tranquil. Had breakfast while we were there, very tasty and uses local sourced products - be aware the restaurant is upstairs within the old stables etc. The walk to the house is mostly flat with the exception of over the foot bridge and up to the house, neither are to bad.
