I have been using Gosford Hill for well over 20 years....Very friendly, efficient service. For a brief period there was an issue with a couple of rude receptionists. This has now thankfully been rectified...All of the reception staff, Doctors and nurses are very helpful and friendly.

I do not normally write reviews unless something is particularly good or particularly bad. Unfortunately since some time ago this practice has unbelievably rude and unpleasant receptionists. Few months ago, I called and asked for a same day appointment experiencing pain in my abdomen that was transferring towards the left side of my body. The receptionist told me that doctor would not see it as case for the same day appointment, she further didn't think it was necessary to set up a telephone appointment with a doctor either. She was very rude and aggressive in tone. I was shocked that receptionists with no proper medical training are allowed to make this kind of decisions. Yesterday, I have phoned to arrange a telephone consultation (or same day appointment) for persistent pain and feeling nauseous, both of which prevent me sleeping. At the point of call I expressed that I would appreciate if appointment will be later in the day. The receptionist called back with the appointment in 45 minutes time. When I explained that I am in Reading without a car and will not be able to get there in this frame of time, she became very unpleasant and kept repeating that I am refusing the appointment. I explained again and again that it is impossible for me to get in that frame of time to the surgery, she just kept repeating that "we are giving you an appointment but you are refusing it". I do appreciate that doctors are very busy but, firstly, unqualified staff should not make medical decisions. Secondly, whilst working with people in this setting, no matter how busy or stressed you are, empathy and understanding should be a priority. There is no place for power trips and power-happy attitudes whilst working with sick and elderly.

I found this surgery very helpful after being refused a temporary resident application by Keys Medical practice Kidlington , for my son who is 3 hrs away from home attending flight school. He become unwell with tonsillitis, i work in a GP surgery so i advised him to ring up a local surgery and get put on as a Temporary patient. He phoned me and said they wont take him on and told him to contact his own GP 3 hrs away because they don't have his medical history. He has no complications, is very healthy and just needed a course of antibiotics. He had a photo of his tonsils/Mouth . This surgery were very helpful, understanding of my concern as a mother 3 hrs away and did the necessary. A GP called him as promised and he was prescribed his antibiotics. I would like to thank them all, very polite and professional, replying to emails and for taking on my son. Well Done ****

We moved to Kidlington about 1,5 years ago. I love this practice. Dr Wallard is absolutely great. For the first time ever I have come back after a doctor appointment happy and inspired that someone, finally, listened to me, took steps to investigate my issue and tried to help. The same great feedback have got from my husband. I would like to thank Dr Wallard for going above and beyond.
