Golden Hare Books edinburgh

Amazing little independent bookshop that clearly has a lot of love poured into it. Both the exterior and interior are really cute, the staff are helpful, and the selection of books is exciting and, almost universally, very pretty. I'd definitely be a regular if I lived anywhere nearby.

It's tough to write a review for a place this good without sounding hysterical! Beautiful books, goregous interior, amazing events, wonderful staff.... I love it, my daughter loves it, my dog loves it.... Surely the best bookstore (independent or otherwise) around.

Had a great conversation about how books are recession proof with the person running the store. This is a lovely environment with a great selection and all products in a great condition. Something for everyone including a brilliant kids section. Love.

Quaint and stylish bookshop with pleasant and knowledgable owners/staff. They do a thing where you can buy a gift wrapped book and you only get a little snip of info about it. You find out the rest when you buy and unwrap it. I thought that was interesting and innovative. It puts a different spin on book shopping.

Great little bookstore, not a huge selection but all titles are clearly hand picked and for a reason. I did end up buying a few titles from here that I never heard of before. It’s a little out the way but was fun to go find it. It’s well worth a visit.

Really happy to have found this independent book store whilst in Edinburgh. Definitely a highlight of my trip. The selection of books and how they were displayed was excellent; and the staff were super friendly! I'll definitely be visiting again.

This is one of the most beautiful and cosy bookstores I have visited. The staff is super friendly and always available to help you find what you are looking for. The selection of books you will find there is like handpicked, I've never seen such a well-curated collection. I found books there that I have been searching in other stores for ages. There is also a lovely fireplace that contributes to the warm ambience at the golden Hare. A must visit for any book lover in Edinburgh ❤️

Loved this bookshop! Favourite part was the woodburning stove which made it so cosy! The children section was also really nice (see picture below) and the selection of books was great! The recommendations cards were an amazing touch and made it easier to find great books!

What a beautiful place full of books curated for all kinds of readers. Their children's section is amazing. While you are here, have a chat with them, their recommendations are very good. Plus they also sell chocolates!
