First of all, NOT located at the airport as they say. And God help you if your flight is delayed, because they don't care. They close when they close and they will never answer the phone so you can give or get information. They don't inform you about all the expenses, so you end up paying double of what you already payed. Just... Don't book a car here

Very simple and easy to use. Do read the terms under wich you rent the car. Take the insurance, and all possible damage is covered. Very friendly for young travelers.

The actual car was fine, the waiti times to pick up and return the car was quite long considering this is at an airport and people have flights to catch. The worst thing about this place is the customer service. Staff are rude, unhelpful and seem to enjoy making customers squirm and jump through unnecessary hoops. Use these people as an absolute last resort

Absolute scam artists! Claimed £500 off my credit card saying i was in an accident, nothing wrong at all with the car. DO NOT HIRE anything from these thieves

Wish I'd read the reviews before booking a car from them. This company just extorts additional money off you when you're at their reception desk. An additional £104 insurance had to be paid because I was paying by debit card... absolute rip-off merchants! When dropping the car off there was a french guy who totally lost it over the additional charge they also tried putting on him!... he walked out. Seems like they do it to everyone! I wouldn't recommend this hire car company to my worst enemy. I wish I could give it zero stars.

Know that you're renting from a budget place, lower your expectations and it's just fine! Get the extra insurance and you're set. Only issue is it's hard to find, NOT by all the other car rental places! Just Google the place, there's a bus that takes you there on the way right when you exit the airport.

Honestly, I was very worried renting a car from goldcar after seeing all bad reviews on Google and other ratings website. To be honest, it was the best rental experience since a long time. 1. Staff was really kind and helpful. He explained all conditions about the rental. He didn't ask me for taking an insurance. 2. Really fast service. Just 5 minutes after coming, I was outside with the car key. 3. Return was really fast. Inspection was great and I received 5min after an email with my 0 pounds invoice. Important : if you don't want to have problems, take a lot of pictures of your car before leaving. Ask to the staff if you see something that doesn't look good on your car. Ask an email to the staff and send all pictures at this email as proof. This is what I did in September 2019.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! SERIOUSLY!! the few pounds a day you save is not worth the headache!!! I promise you that. We wait there for 2 hours today and were given wildly inflated quotes as a "walk in". After stepping aside and just booking it online instead to save literally 230£ this broad refused to help me? So I had to wait once again. So after waiting, this lovely lady informs me that they cant rent to me because my license was issued less than 2 years ago? (I'm 25 and have had my license since I was 16). She was talking about the peive of plastic itself. Not the date of my actually acquired license. So when I updated my address a year ago, she thought that was the date I got my license. So after waiting for 2 hours she refused to rent me a vehicle. She was very dismissive and extremely arrogant. Completely unreasonable.

Goldcar at Edinburgh airport - surely the WORST car rental company in the world! We were due to arrive late due to delayed flight, so phoned their number and were simply told that if Goldcar were aware of our flight number (they were) someone would stay on to help us. We arrived at their hut at 21.20 and it was in darkness! Nobody there as the person on the phone had apparently not informed them. So we rented a car from another company who were open until midnight (much better service). We have sent emails to the laughingly inappropriate "Customer service" department at Goldcar - not even an acknowledgment! Multiple emails to Holiday Autos (through whom we booked the rental) also remain unanswered! Service level zero! Obviously we will never use either Goldcar or Holiday Autos again but now we seek to warn others of these dreadful companies. Be warned, these are not serious companies and avoid them like the plague. Oh yes, still awaiting a refund...

Awful! I am a frequent car hirer. After reading bad reviews, I thought I can avoid all the extra charges. But, they charged me an extra because my driving experience is less than 4 years. This 4 year condition was not clearly notified to me. I read most of emails and small-font texts while booking. But, this 4 year condition is only shown in the 20 page contract. Also, I also have more than 15 years of experience of driving. Although my UK driver's license was issued 2 years ago, I have other driver's license at home which shows that I have more than 4 years. Although I have a photo of my other driver's license (which is still valid), but they did not accept it. If I knew that I was required to show 4 year's driving experience, I would have carried my other driver's license. Avoid as much as possible. They are very skillful to charge you more.
