Every once in a while I manage to pull a muscle or two at the gym with the free weights, its really painful and takes a lot to kill it, so I needed to go and get something to ease off the ache.
This is my local chemist, its literally 30 seconds from where I live, I went in and was greeted by a woman who looked like Shirley Carter and had the personally of Miss Ferguson from Cell Block H.
I asked for a packet of Nurofen Plus, she said "you know we can't sell you these on a regular basis" I said I only want one pack, "yes but you've been in for them before", I said I haven't been in this chemist for a long time, I've had no need to, she said "well I know your face", I said well I do live around the corner...
Anyway she carried on saying how she knows my face etc, which she would as I walk past there every day, and whats that got to do with anything, whats she suggesting? she was generally making my feel very uncomfortable and as if I'd done something wrong.
She really didn't explain herself at all, there must be an unspoken rule about over the counter medication, as there were certainly no signs up to advise about the rules of buying these products, but are there any rule though? or is she taking guidelines and turning them into a way to have a moment of power?
If you're considering going here for over the counter medication, I'd think again. There are plenty of chemists in Hove , and I'd say a shop who treats their paying customers like this doesn't deserve the business.
