This is a hill, it could be a mountain but it isn't quite big enough. If you run up it then it's really hard, if you ride a bike up it then it's even harder. Walking is generally quite easy. There's parking around it, but you can't drive a car all the way to the top. The views from the top are unbeatable though, so definitely worth a trip to the top.

One of the quietest days on this mountain for a long time. I say mountain because today I made a point of checking my altimeter at the trig point, and it gave me 106 Mt. So it is the closest mountain to the city. What a wonderful place we live in. One thing I have to say, love to see all the new walker's out on the Welsh hills and mountains. Please take your rubbish home with you and dogs pop. Don't spoil what we have on our doorstep.

“It’s note a heel. It’s a moan ton.” Met a hilarious Welsh man on our hike up to the top. He’d been hiking up here for years from the north. Never seen the sign identifying it as Garth Hill. He actually said he always thought it was a mountain. So funny. Straight out of the movie.

A steep climb in parts but can be walked mostly by road so not too difficult or long a walk. And on a clear day you are rewarded with an amazing 360 vista from the top - to the East, the foothills of the valleys; looking South, laid out below you is Cardiff and the Severn estuary flowing in front of England's Devon hills rolling on down towards Cornwall; as you continue to pan West, Swansea Bay in the distance. And to cap it all, to the North you have a clear line of sight to the majesty of Pen-y-Fan and the Brecon Beacons...a photographer's paradise!
