After staying here for a second time, coupled with multiple of “situations” - I now have an informed and objective review of this place. In our first stay, which was merely a month ago, we were charmed by its location, nestled along the Robertson Quay, the night scene boast a place that does not even look like Singapore. Service was mediocre, but did not pose any issues during that first stay. Our second stay, however, painted a brand new idea of how the service is like - and even the beautiful night scene was not enough to pacify it. Thinking of grabbing snacks at about 4pm, we were appalled by the misinformation given by the service crew at the restaurant, and to make things worst, cancel our order without us even knowing it. We sat there for a good 20 minutes, unbeknown to us that the order was never going to come. To make matters worst, we went and ask if our food is still coming, we were given a curt reply of “I thought you don’t want already?” Dinner service got from worse to worst. The lack of basic service skills from the part timers were understandable - but should still not be an excuse for a hotel with a reputation. The cherry on the top for this disastrous evening would be our in room dining experience - apple pie served in a plastic bag. We understand during this pandemic, extra care is paramount when it comes to food handling - but again not an excuse for sloppy presentation of food. The only saving grace came from the manager on duty who handled the situation with care after getting our feedback. This review is not meant as a complain, rather a learning point for the hotel to take note of moving forward.
