Fly ICARUS – Drone Training stoke-on-trent

Thanks to Matt and his team at Fly ICARUS I have just achieved the Theoretical exam with a 98% mark to which I'm still buzzing. I've gone into this course with very little knowledge but a lot of enthusiasm which everyone shared. I shopped around other schools nationwide before joining and I could not of chosen a better flight school. Matt and his team welcomed us and felt part of the ICARUS team straightaway and any worries soon dissipated. The lecturer Tom is top notch and his ability to transfer knowledge is second to none, this coupled with Matts experience of the course and military background bought a phenomenal course which goes beyond the normal modules offered by other courses, to give the students even more knowledge of safe flying. Thanks guys could not recommend high enough.

I attended the Icarus Pro course for three days in September 2017. It was a fantastic learning experience, the course instructors Matt and Tom, had brilliant situational relevance, and many thousands of hours flying experience of Full Size Aircraft, both Fixed Wing and Rotary as well as many different platforms of drone devices. The course was well structured, and Designed to give a perfect insight into what was needed to become certified as a professional drone pilot. The pace and content of the course was very well balanced, and gave the perfect insight into what was needed to pass the CAA Theory exam. I would recommend this course to anyone looking to become a certified professional drone pilot in the United Kingdom.

I recently completed the two day Ground School and final Operational Exam (OE) with Icarus and the AMP team and cannot recommend them highly enough. I had Tom guide me through the whole training series and he was fantastic. They made the experience painless and problem-free from the start. The facilities down at their Oxfordshire base are excellent, but the support and information provided really is worth a special mention. All of the documentation is written in a way that is understandable whatever your level of knowledge and this really helps; not only with the theory exam but also the practical test and completing the additional forms the CAA require. I also opted to pay extra for the Ops Manual which was one of the best decisions I made. It seems expensive up front, but I value my own time, and avoiding the bulk of the written work meant that I could use my own time more productively. In summary, I went from Day 1 of Ground School to completion of the OE in exactly 4 weeks. Thanks Matt, Tom and all the Icarus/AMP team!

Really enjoyed the ICARUS course I recently done with AMP. I learnt a lot more than I actually thought I would do and even the aspects I was already aware of I now feel a lot more confident with. Everything went smoothly from start to finish and I can’t recommend them highly enough.

A well run and very professional company that, even if you are already an experienced pilot, can consolidate your knowledge and help you develop structures and routines to help you enhance safety and success. Highly recommended.

I took up a GVC Course from UAVHUB early in 2021. From the outset I have been highly impressed with this course. The video tutorials have been very clear and easy to understand (even for me!). On the couple of occasions I have called the office for advice the calls have been answered quickly from a chap called Tim. I found him to be incredibly helpful, friendly and supportive and nothing was too much trouble. Tom the flight examiner was lovely and put me at ease immediatley. Additionally the price of the GVC Course was the best I found after much research. I would without a doubt highly recommend UAVHUB without reservation.
