A well maintained, secure and clean park. I grew up in the area in the late 70's/early 80's and this Park was always the hub for local children. It's lovely there is still a green open space local people can gather to take their kids, walk the dog etc. It boasts fantastic views over North Edinburgh and is a great place to watch the Edinburgh Castle fireworks. There is a kids play park, an outdoor gym, benches and tables and is securely enclosed by a fence that runs around the perimeter. It sits on top of a limestone mine that dates back as early as the 17th century. I remember back in 2000, there was substantial subsidence which damaged a whole row of pensioners houses which subsequently, had to be demolished. Overall, a nice local park with lots of history.

My Grandson enjoys it here, it would be better if people closed the gates behind them though

I think I might have just passed this on Old Dalkeith Road, so not sure why you want to know. Anyway, there used to be a punk disco in the late 70s, if that's any help. Not sure if they've fixed the gap in the fence but that was a good shortcut back in the day.
