I'd previously visited the shop to pick up a colour chart and the lady serving was very nice and helpful. When I returned a few months later to buy some paint a different lady was working and I found her haughty and somewhat rude. It'd perhaps be useful for her to remember that today's little client is tomorrow's bigger client, and it's just paint!

I would echo others’ comments. The woman in this shop is very snooty and I felt like she was looking down her nose at me! I was exchanging a colour (as allowed) and buying another pot too. she said “have you left this outside in a garage, it’s cold”. Firstly it had just been delivered to me because they didn’t have it in stock. Secondly, it was kept inside BUT it’s paint!?!? Does it really matter!? Won’t be going back there again. I shall stick to Bristol where they are nice& friendly!!!

My husband went into this branch of F&B a few weekends ago, he had an excellent experience of customer service with Hannah. She was so knowledgeable and really took the time to help him choose paints for our new home, in total spending just under £300 on paint. We were so impressed... However, We had returned this weekend to get some more paint, and were served by *Jenny*. We went into the shop and were not welcomed to say the least with bright and polite customer service. In fact, quite the opposite. She welcomed us almost as though she didn't want to be working, and left us feeling as though we shouldn't have been buying paint from the shop at all. Her negative body language, lack of eye contact and flat facial expression left us feeling unwelcome. She gave us no advice at all when we told her the issue we were having with one of our rooms and light direction impacting on paint choice. We felt looked down upon when we asked politely if she could check our account in store for the names of the paints we had selected previously. She said that the system itself "wasn't very good and did not store this information". This isnt true, because we had set up an account specifically for this purpose. In the end, I had to pull out my own receipt and read the paint directly off of it to her in order for her to help us. She then strutted off to the back room to get the paint, despite me having not even finished informing her of all the paints we needed, or having the opportunity to ask for her advice. Needless to say I decided not to ask her anything at all... It would be too much hardwork and not a pleasant interaction. We found her to be snooty, and she made us leave feeling like we were lesser than. She let's the entire shop down, I won't be going to that branch again, and if it was our first experience of shopping for paint at F&B I can honestly say I would not be returning again. Appalling customer service, the manager ought to have a word with her... We won't be going back to this branch ever again! (It is however somewhat relieving - sorry F&B fellow reviewing customers - to know you have had similar experiences, we thought it was due to our heritage!)

The shop itself is nice like every F&B shops but, it's not a good sign if the staff can't answer clearly quite basic question about specific paint and if it is necessary to use an undercoat. Instead of clear answer, these ladies offered me a colour card with phone number (customer and technical helpline) so if you are charging £71 for 2.5l of eggshell, I expecting to see a fully trained and knowledgeable staff!

2/ 5

The showroom is nice and I did not mind waiting outside in the rain to get inside, however, after 20 minutes and when I was finally let inside the staff started discussing that they should be closed in the weekend and that they could not manage the customers (despite it being one in one out?) - making me feel unwelcome and uncomfortable! I was excited about finally renovating the house and knew I wanted all rooms to be painted in Farrow & Ball colors thus looking forward to my visit, but it was such a disappointing experience and I have now sourced the paint from somewhere else instead. The person who served also just left the room without saying goodbye after I had purchased the samples, asking her other colleague to take over. I normally do not write reviews and I have no joy bringing this up again, but I would suggest staff discuss their dissatisfaction and concerns when they are not serving customers as it is very inappropriate. Best of luck!
