Enterprise Rent-A-Car – Springburn glasgow

Absolutely APPALLING!!!!! - I had a van rented 2 months in advance and the office decides to call me 5 minutes before I am supposed to be being picked up to tell me my address given doesn't match my bank address (which it does and I offered to get a statement for that exact day to prove it!). They said nothing could be done and I couldn't go through with the van rental. This was the day of moving house 5 minutes before my rental - how a 'company' can operate like this is truly beyond me. I went to Arnold clark instead who were in fact cheaper, no hefty deposit required and where that same address given to enterprise actually matched (like it should have)! Absolutely shocking on the day of moving house. NEVER AGAIN!

The staff are brilliant and always go above and beyond. I always hire at springburn cause of the good customer service. They really do try their hardest to make sure that you are satisfied and happy. Coffee and biscuits as I waited and a lift back after dropping of the rental. They should get a pay rise tbh. Fantastic staff.

Just ruined my day when I requested plz pick me up from home they refused we r busy so after that refused me to offer a car! 2 months ago on same paper work I Hired a car from enterprise. Next min I called Arnold Clark can’t believe just 15min picked me up from enterprise and on same paper work thy offered me rental car

Given a car that goes up in smoke after only a couple of miles. Then had to wait obscene length of time for another car, was given an unsuitable car, on basis they'd find me another car next morning. The manager didnt bother calling me, called her several times and she was busy eventually called me back at 3pm, offering to collect a car from edinburgh airport. I declined because of time Promised someone would call me next day with an alternative solution... nobody bothered.

Very pleasant and helpful staff who picked me up from home and took me collect my loan car.

Edit. We have had great communications with Enterprise since I wrote this review and they have now compensated us and we cannot praise the reaction from them enough. We would use this company again anytime. Now due a 5 star review!! I was quoted £391 on the phone for 4 days van rental but with all the extras they added on it came to over £600! They hadn't mentioned it was ex vat. Worse, the Peugeot expert slows right down like it's in limp mode - really dangerous when trying to join traffic on the motorway and when overtaking.

I’m not one for complaining usually, but on Saturday, October 30th, I booked a van from someone at their head office. I gave them all the details I then found my license had expired i was told it didn’t affect the booking as the government had extended it by 11 months due to Covid, so I ordered a taxi and made my way to the Springburn office only to be told that I could not have the van and that was that. I’m a vulnerable person and was stranded on the other side of town unable to get a taxi home due to the Cop26. The staff didn’t care and told me I Waco my own. I would never ever use this company and I’ll advise all my friends and family never to do so.

AVOID - I WAS CHARGED EXTRA FOR DAMAGE WHEN THERE WAS NONE !!! I had a vehicle as a courtesy rental through insurance for less than 24 hours whilst mine was recovered and repaired. I drove 32 miles, 16 of which were from the rental location to the drop off location. They called me more than 24 hours after I dropped the car off, and more than 7 hours after they collected it to tell me I had damaged two tyres and they were charging me a £250 excess. They sent through 'evidence' of the damage and it's only visible on very up close up / zoomed in photos so there is no way of knowing they are of the tyres of the car I hired. Even then, the damage is certainly nothing I would notice on a walk around (at 5:30pm in the dark) when accepting a rental car and even if I had noticed the alleged 'damage' I caused, I wouldn't consider it to be an issue when renting a car, particularly given tyres do incur wear and tear and these particular tyres had probably done all 9 thousand miles the car had. I even commented on the walk around that the tyres were different to those on my own (the same make, model and tyre size) and appeared 'budget' when I did the walk around and the branch manager stated that they would be the 'cheapest available'. I didn't think it necessary to outline every scuff, scrape and nick on them - turns out I was wrong! I've raised a complaint with Enterprise so we'll see where that goes but I would avoid hiring from here unless you want to be on the hook for a new set of tyres!!!

Rented a van for 8, they phoned the night before at 6:30 to come at 10 instead. Told them I needed it for 8 and they said well we don’t have a van. Went at 8 the next day sorted the paper work so I could get on the road for 10 and try recover the day and told come back at 10 that’s fine. Went back at 10 no van it was on its way. Eventually got the van at 10:45. The full time the same type van was sitting outside from I arrived till I left with the van I got. Asked if I was expected to pay the full rental for the van they said yes, I had to put an extra body on insurance because of it, that will be an extra £13. Van came and was dirty. The overall rental ended up costing me a lot more money and cost me in guys paid at the other side I never got the use of. Wouldn’t give me a receipt either 4 times I had to phone and eventually got one. I get things happen but no effort to resolve and added charges to the bill when they should have been reducing it for costing me money and having the van for less time. Also questioned about condition of van on return and had to show it was like that when I got it.
