Eirias Park ‘lake’ is slowly turning into a bit of a wildlife sanctuary. Formerly a boating ‘lake’ but in more recent times a reed bed has been established at one end. The ‘lake’ used to be drained for fireworks night (5th November’ish), but not last year, instead an area of grass was singed and burnt. The ‘lake’ is home to swans ducks and some other birds, one rather wonders how the noise of bonfire night will go down with said wild life.
