2/ 5

Receptionists are a shambles, I called in the evening to see if it would be possible to make an appointment and was told I could only make on day appointments. I called just before 8am, got a message saying the surgery was closed, called back and was put on hold for around 5-10mins. Finally got through to reception to be told there were no appointments left but I could book in for a few days later?! I questioned why I had been told only on day appointments were available, receptionist immediately backpedalled and somehow miraculously found an appointment for that day. I've now also been ignored by reception staff while standing patiently waiting to be registered as waiting for my appointment, twice. One even told me it didn't matter where I stood (there are 3 reception windows) so I stood by the side of the only window with a receptionist in, only to have someone come in behind me and they asked for their details first? Even though I'd been standing in front of them for a solid 5 minutes at least, no one else in the waiting room. They turned to me and had the cheek to say they didn't know I was waiting, even though I'd been standing in front of them and the other receptionist had said in front of them that it didn't matter where I stood. I've also had one of the team call me and they had no idea why, even though they had been the ones to inform me that I'd be receiving a phone call. They have "morning" and "afternoon" appointments, no time slots, for phone call appointments, which is of course really inconvenient as you have a 3 hour window then a 5-8/9 hour window depending on whenever they get round to you. I was also called back with test results and the phone line was atrocious, badly distorted with loud beeping noises in the background and it kept cutting out, the doctor told me they were on speakerphone while I was sharing very personal information! I had no idea what they were saying half the time and the amount of medical jibberish they threw at me made it even worse. I've moved around a lot and this is by far the worst surgery I've been registered with, mainly due to the reception staff and issues with organisation. The only positive I have to share is that the nurses are absolutely lovely, really professional, helpful and obviously caring towards their patients. I had deliberately avoided registering at this surgery because of the bad reviews, it turned out the one I registered with (around 5* rating at the time) is a sister surgery and they both have the same issues! At the other one I was treat like an idiot (being asked if I had a dental issue, when I knew it wasn't a dental issue), was told I would be booked in for a scan, found out the surgery had INCORRECTLY booked me in for the scan TWICE (and I found this out by calling the hospital directly, no one from the surgery called me) and then on the day of the scan the hospital staff still didn't realise where I was meant to be scanned. Don't make the same mistake I did, avoid both surgeries if you can.
