Initially a very positive experience, will friendly staff, competitive prices, and an abundantly stocked showroom. We ordered seventeen doors, including fittings, which were delivered in three different deliveries due to a delay from the manufacturer sending out the stock, which was fine.
Everything went smoothly until we received our final delivery. The doors had been stored awaiting the joiner to fit them. On removing the packaging, one door had a large indent on one of the panels, and a further door had significant damage to the edge which would prevent it from sitting flush in the doorframe.
I contacted EHS Architectural Ltd to inform them of the damage, however their customer service was far removed from our initial experience. I was informed that the doors must be checked within three days of receipt, otherwise they cannot be returned or replaced. There is a note on them stating this, however this was never verbally communicated. It would have been impossible to unpack our initially delivery of fifteen doors to inspect them, due to a space perspective and fear of exposing them which could possibly result in damage. I was assured from EHS Architectural Ltd that they inspect the doors on receipt from the door manufacturer, and that they can tell if they are damaged by inspecting the packaging (which in my opinion cannot completely exclude damage), and informed me, "To the best of our knowledge the goods were delivered to you in perfect condition".
I asked for a paper trail of the inspections that took place, and after repeatedly asking, I was eventually told that there was no paper trail, which makes me assume that no checks took place.
EHS Architectural Ltd advised that I could glue and clamp the damaged door edge and sent my a link to a YouTube video.
What initially was a pleasant customer experience, has descended into poor (and at times insulting) customer service, with inadequate (unconfirmed) checks of product quality. Were I to spend £3000+ again on doors, I would certainly take my custom elsewhere.
