Avoid this company at any cost. The car was booked for pickup at 23:00. We rang them from the airport as our flight was a little delayed so we may be 10-15 minutes late; we were advised that if we are even one minute late, we are going to be charged £150 fee; so my partner ran to get there before 23:00, which he managed to do. Then, they charged us £500 deposit which instead of being blocked on our credit card, was taken out; when we complained, we were advised that’s how they do business. Finally, when we returned the car, we were told it’s all good, but two weeks later no £500 deposit was refunded; so we called and called and finally we were advised that some charge was applied for a scratch with no proof and no email and no receipt. If I had more time on my hands, I would really have taken these crooks to court. Unacceptable customer service!

We booked our car for thrifty through dollar car rental and the experience was negative from the beginning. We were delayed on our flight sitting on the runway at the airport. When we arrived late they said they had leased the car to someone else because we were late. Dollar does not share information with thrifty due data protection laws so they did not have any flight information. Dollar was unhelpful in our circumstances and didn’t care. I would not recommend booking with them. We were left having to upgrade the car to get to a wedding which cost us an extra 500 pounds plus insurance. Book at your own risk!

They told us that they accepted American Express when we booked but when we arrived to pick up the car they told us that they didn't. The guy at the counter was really rude and unhelpful about the situation. "Your website says that you accept Amex" "yeah well that doesn't mean that we actually do" Thankfully we managed to rebook with Avis who were much friendlier

Didn't accept any other payment than credit card so couldn't pick up the car. No refund as well, terrible service

Got a brand new 320D Automatic M-Sport for my trip of Scotland. Spotless car, flawless experience, will be coming back again.
