I had a conference call with Karen one of the barristers in advance of a court hearing. But then Karen (who I was impressed with) was unable to make the hearing date. The chambers could not supply another barrister and rather than refunding the money either fully or partially (as you would expect an normal business to do) insisted in keeping all of the initial fee paid - I am now faced with having to pay again for another barrister from a different chambers. With service like this it is no wonder that the legal ‘profession’ is held in such poor regard.
