Who would have thought you could find an even more historic area in the middle of such a historic city. Right beside Edinburgh's city centre but a little valley of quaint little buildings.

Some nice area's but most of the houses are pretty shabby. Disappointing. Could be amazing and a real community buzz if some redevelopment was carried out.

A lovely tranquil village, nestled into a deep tree-lined ravine and overlooked by a high road viaduct. Very picturesque, peaceful and pretty. There are no cafes or public loos in the area but the MOMA is close by and can provide both facilities.

Amazing scenery, no coffee shops, restaurants or pubs there, so be prepared. To get to the shops one can follow the path to Stockbridge or ignore the prohibition and walk the other way by the river for hours to enjoy the scenery.

Beautiful, magical, graceful. What Edinburgh is all about. A little walk through the glistening and enticing meadows, the smell of freshly beaten ground turf invading your nostrils like a small hungry shrew invades the hole of an earth worm. I would take my mother here, my gran, and my friends wife and could guarantee that they'd enjoy every second.

The place is not far from Edinburgh downtown, maybe 15 minutes away and worth the walk. If the city looks like the scenery from and old movie, this tiny village takes you back on time. Adorable, peaceful, green. Lovely!!

Dean Village is a must if you're visiting Edinburgh. A little oasis of calmness in a bustling city, with very picturesque photo opportunities waiting around every corner. 100% recommended, a bit hill-y (not much!)

A lovely place to explore. Also enjoyed our walk from Princess Street through the New Town area to arrive at Dean Village. The village has many interesting buildings, places to eat and shop and a nice market.

One of the most beautiful hidden gem of the Edinburgh. The houses and the beautiful river passing across the village makes it really magical. It will definitely remind you of cotswold if you have ever been there.
