We found this cemetery in the lovely Dean Village. The cemetery is quite big and beautiful. Due to the position of the cemetery you can have good views of Edinburgh from here as well. This is the kind of cemetery that you like to walk with wide paths and beautiful vegetation inviting to a relaxing walk.

4/ 5

There are many cemeteries scattered throughout Edinburgh and this one sits just outside Dean Village. Scattered amongst the trees are rows and rows of headstones and monoliths, marking out the resting places of many notable family names from Edinburgh's past. Well looked after and a pleasant walking spot. Keep dogs on lead.

A lovely very typical Scottish cemetery! Well maintained and has some fascinating graves! Very very peaceful and spread out over several levels, like most of Edinburgh. Would benefit from a few more benches I think, especially towards the back. Really is just such a stunning place and very much worth a trip as it’s very easy to get to from central Edinburgh. Take a little pack lunch or pop to the Waitrose round the corner first and make a little wonder of it.
