Lovely place and really helpful staff. I was allowed to play the guitar i was interested in with no pressure and guess what....i bought it! We need music shops where you can do this so I was happy to support my local one (and their price was v competitive with online anyway) :-)

Top help when asking about an ex demo Gibson EB5 T Bass. ....honest description over phone & so I bought it my first 5 string. Very quick delivery. Everything I wanted for my rock tone. A very powerful passive bass, light new design in a very nice resonant natural Swamp Ash finish in matt nitro laquer. Great old school feel. Well done Dawson's Manchester. Top team.

Great stock unfortunately, in my experience the staff are sales people first and musicians second. If you want proper recommendations I would suggest PMT or Anderson's depending on your location. They offer a far more comprehensive service and add far more value to the experience.

Just a really nice place to be if you play a piano or a guitar. Staff always say Hi to you when you enter or leave. Has the vib of a friendly store.

Dawsons Manchester is a great shop, but it is not as good as it used to be for pianos. I think they have made one (ground) floor out of the previous two. If that is so, that would explain my remark. You'd imagine it is covid-19 related. My tip, if you play piano, like myself, is to sanitise your hands before and after touching any keys, and whilst being a remote danger, be mindful of touching your eyes after touching keys and doing that second sanitation. In fact, whatever you play, if you know you are going to visit, take gel with you!
