Disappointing service. Recieved a text message informing me that my spectacles were ready to collect when actually one one of the two pairs was ready. A lady at the desk called the 'lab' who said the other pair could either be today or maybe tomorrow. She also said she didn't have time to call me to inform me of their error, despite me having time to drive from work in llanelli to collect them. Service up until collection was excellent, real shame to be let down and this late stage of the process.

I decided to take my prescription somewhere else and after using my glasses for a week I still wasn’t able to see properly, blurry vision , strong headaches , then I was sure that prescription isn’t right . I decided before I go back to the place I ordered my glasses I check with my optition first . I was then send to branch manger cath which I think she assumed either I’m deaf or because I am not from UK I might not understand English . I have to say watching her try so hard to talk to me was really funny . Anyway she had few minutes speech about because i paid money to Asda they are responsible to fix that and she was keep repeating the word Money . I listened to her and then I said all I want is for you to check my glass against my prescription. And then she just realised she had a long speech for no reason. She checked and said it was wrong . Then I asked what if prescription is wrong her answer was There is no such a thing as wrong prescription and ophthalmology is an art and it all about what you want !!!!!! I went back to place where made my eye glasses and optition checked it against my old glasses and noticed a big difference and some other technical term which I don’t remember . She ended up contacting David & Jones to confirm with them but in my surprise Cath mentioned they don’t have a record of my old eye glasses ,even though their optition first checked my old glasses as I had it on my eyes when I walked in . Even though second place offered me a check up and replacing glasses i went back to cath and she seemed calmer about situation and she asked me what I want I asked for a checkup with another optition luckily the director of the company was there and he did my checkup ( that explained why cath was calmer and polite as director room was next to her desk with door open) after checkup he did confirm it was a wrong prescription and difference wasn’t small. He offered to replace my glass and passed information to cath . Few days later glasses were ready and before I leave I asked receptionist do I need to do anything then she mentioned that there is a balance to be paid for the glasses . I felt a bit embarrassed in front of others , even though she was as nice as anyone could be . and explained it was taken care by the optition , she was fine about. I did not want to write a bad review buy it was really upsetting after what The branch manager put me through at least she would be committed to a better service especially when they were clearly at fault and the director did not hesitate to resolve it for me.
