Great service everytime I go in. Always offer alternatives for my posting requirements to ensure I have the best solution. Unsure why there are negative reviews. Have lived in the area for 30 + years and service is as great as its ever been.

The virulence of the negative reviews here leaves me dumbfounded. I have been in on many occasions over the last couple of years and I am constantly impressed by the professionalism, courtesy and helpfulness of the guys. They are a credit to their business and certainly don't deserve to have their reputation trashed. I popped in this morning and was again amazed by the friendliness and professionalism. Keep it up, you are great !!!

Another zero star if possible. I have heard the male staff here being rude to customers in the past but believed, as I hadn't heard the beginning it may be six of one etc. However I have been humiliated and insulted and refused service there today merely because I suggested to a lady in front that she could get her passport photos done at Tesco round the corner if she didn't want to wait for ten minutes for another member of staff to turn up. The little ‘man' behind the counter told me to stop preventing him from selling his services, I pointed out I was just trying to help the lady at which point he refused to serve me! When I questioned it he said he was in his rights to refuse. When I said he was being ridiculous I was then told I was being insulting......what do you expect when having been refused service for no good reason. I returned 10 minutes later to ask the man's name and was told I couldn't have it and asked to leave, when I refused they called the police!!! I would have been happy to wait for them but didn't really want to waste our tax payers money.I am a 53 year old lady with no threatening behaviour in my body! At the post office in Barnton, where I went and is my usual, I was upset and told them about the incident. They were completely unsurprised and said they had had loads of people comment on how rude the male staff were at Davidson Mains and there was even a lady behind me in the queue who had also experienced this terrible treatment and had boycotted the office. I don't know how they are allowed to get away with this, being very rude to general members of public because they feel like it. I intend to mount a petition to complain and see if we can get them moved out. We are not allowed to treat them badly so why are they getting away with it? Don't use this office even if your life depends on it!!! Unfortunately there are a number of pensioners that live very close and depend on it and are probably keeping it in business. To those that have written good reviews and can’t understand the bad ones look at the balance of the evidence. How many times in your life have you ever felt compelled to review a post office? The bad reviews are all there as evidence. I honestly think the little man in there has a psychological problem as I have heard him turn from sweet chat to downright rude on a whim. We should all send a complaint into Post office on line. Surely there can’t be another office that gets such awful reviews about the same awful men ? Power to the people. !!! Just read the so called response which of course is out and out rubbish as can be expected from these mad men that run the post office. Definitely not 'under the influence of alcohol' and definitely did mot lash out at anyone. Read the reviews mad men. No other post office has so many negative reviews about attitude and behaviour of the staff. You cannot think you are right faced with all of this evidence. Go get another shop and behave like this when people don't need the Post office facilities and see how much commercial success you have then! You are clearly delusional!!! Barnton post office can state how many people have complained about you guys to them. If you were not the manager's brother you would have been sacked long ago!! and should be!!

I use this post office regularly and have only had positive experiences and very efficient service when returning parcels most weeks. I am surprised to see the 1 star reviews. I would not like to see the current owners stop the good work they are doing and as such want to balance out any negative reviews received. please keep up the good work

As a regular customer here, I can only compliment the staff as they are always, polite, courteous and extremely helpful. As one of the few private owned businesses left in Davidson's Mains, it is a pleasure to go in here. The Post Office is also clean, tidy, and well stocked with a variety of cards, stationery and gift items. Despite at time, being extremely busy, Irfan always seems to find time to chat and show an interest in what I/we are in there for. He also has a very good sense of humour which often brings a smile to the faces of not only me, but other people in the queue. Carry on the good work guys.

The farce that Google ratings are. This particularly bad rated post office is being shown as a 2.5 out of 5 star rating which is very strange, as it has 53 reviews, 33 of which are negative 1 star reviews, which also means that there are only 20 reviews that are more positive but not necessarily all 5 star rating, so how can that possibly equate to an overall 2.5 star rating? This is Google corruption & dishonesty at its best, like all other media sources that do their utmost best to deliberately lie & mislead the public, and Google are experts in doing just that.

Unsure about previous reviews experience, as I always receive friendly and professional service in this Post Office branch! Staff are very knowledgeable and informative of Royal Mail procedures and policies, and they are happy to offer free sticky tape and pens when needed. My post office of choice!
