Nice club until they break their terms and conditions and you disagree. They ignore that they have to give three months notice for price increases even when you point out they do. The manager thinks he can scare you with 'FINAL DECISIONS' but luckily their head office has sense. Nice place but try to rob people of money with scare tactics of debt collectors. Fairly sure they never give three months notice for price increases (and they are big increases. About 12% this year) or at least they didn't for the last two years.

Low star for poor customer service from the young girl with the long brown hair on reception 5.45pm Sunday. My husband and I were going to join but have declined since I was ignored and made to feel like I wasn’t there. She was very rude and gave me no eye contact. I’m disappointed because the gym looks great, and my husband was a member before. Why work on a front of house desk if you are not customer friendly.

Staff is unbelievably unhelpful and unprofessional, will not listen to what you're asking. The prices are utterly ridiculous as well - no wonder they don't advertise them online, just try to trick people into joining, but forgetting to mention 100 gbp joining fees etc.

I could only give one star As the gym was far too hot, it was 22° C, I asked if the air-conditioning was broken and was told no this is how we have it, far too hot to train comfortably, why on earth have it so hot, other gyms have max 19c!

Visited for a family swim whilst we were on holiday in York, it's great to be able to use other clubs around the country. Very friendly staff and we loved the indoor pool.

Gym and facilities are very good but restaurant is a bit hit and miss with closing times. They change daily and no warning. Staff are brilliant though, very helpful when enquiring about anything.

I have been a member for about 2 weeks now. I joined in York and have been to 4 clubs since as I travel for work. The sign up process was straight forward and I got a decent tour of the facilities from Jamie, who answered all my queries. There were a lot of reviews mentioning cancellation problems but the T&C are clear and obvious about the procedure, length of time and reasons you can break contract - I would argue that these reviewers didn’t take due diligence and familiarise themselves with them before signing up. The facilities are generally good, and in good condition, however I would have liked to see more functional kit and a bigger area to use them. For example, there’s only one rower. The only other issue I have had is with the debris in the outdoor pool, which I understand is natural given that it’s….outside. But a mid day or afternoon net clean to get the flies out would be helpful. You can’t see it when you look at the pool from above, but inside with goggles it’s too much to be acceptable. Overall I am happy with my local club, and look forward to trying some of the classes going forward.
