I came here for an open day because they animation course was apparently number 1, but the actual course is 'Illustration Animation' and they mostly teach you illustration. I can already draw, and I'm pretty sure most people can too; what they need to focus on is animation. It would be much better if they taught the courses separately. The building was horrible and old, and the only good facilities I saw was the car designing room. Furthermore, when I came here, students' deadlines were approaching, and the whole atmosphere felt like students were seconds away from committing suicide, and I'm not exaggerating. There were 2 or 3 rooms inside the university filled with Mac Suites available for students to use, but in the 2 or 3 rooms overall, there was only one student working. If deadlines were approaching, why wasn't the rooms filled to the brim? This made me feel very uneasy - something must be wrong. The library is a whole separate building, which the public can attend too, which was so full, some people were standing. So why was the library so full when there were multiple computer suites available inside the university? Was there something wrong with the university or something that students wouldn't touch and were overcrowding the library instead? The whole city felt dull and depressing too - I can't imagine spending a month here let alone 3 years. Good luck, future students.

If you heard of the so called high rankings by guardian times and teaching awards for excellence, and now you're thinking of enrolling here.... kindly rethink your decision. I joined here for healthcare management and within months it was clear that this university was a poor choice. There are hardly 3 to 4 days of classes in a week, assignments are too easy and people walk in late to classes or whenever they want to. Lecturers are nice enough ( but then, when you see someone only once a week, how can you tell? ) they are helpful and seem to genuinely want to help students. But have you seen the city? And how dull it is? Google the pictures or read up about it. Now if the course was good, this city would ensure you performed well, as there is barely anything else to than study. Only plus is that the cost of living is much cheaper than the rest of uk. My classmates are regretting joining as much as me, so try not to fall for the so called rating that they publicise, in order to make more money. Rather, get some feedback from real students. Lastly, as post study work visa is no longer available for international students, choose another country than the UK, like Australia or Canada or wherever... at least that will ensure you earn back some of the money you spent, in case you do end up in a substandard university.
