This is a great store, with a range that covers a lot of different items. It could do with a bit more depth in some ranges (particularly technical women's clothing) but it has a particularly good selection of backpacks and sleeping bags. What really sets the branch apart from other outdoor shops are the amazing members of staff. Everyone I've spoken to there is very knowledgeable and offers great advice. They're really good at fitting packs too. The excellent service makes it one of my favourite places to buy more substantial outdoor gear.

Came here for a last minute tent just before they closed. picked the cheapest 1 man they had (discount 170 to 130 quid). You pay for what you get with camping stuff so great value. just as I was going through the till they said It comes with a free footprint for the tent. Which they went and Got from a back room 5 minute till closing time. 24hrs later was in Scotland pissing down with rain. The free footprint saved my gear for the next day. Thankyou so much. Can't recommend these guys enough. Sold me some good boots too about a year ago and they're solid.

A good selection of good quality items for all our outdoor needs. Staff are very helpful and knowledgeable if you want help, and will do their best to get something that fits comfortably. They can get items sent from other stores if needed. Prices are around the recommended retail price so can seem a bit high compared to other places, but they price match with online retailers, but it must be exactly the same product (size, colour)

Have been here twice since the pandemic and on both occasions I have been treated well and with knowledgeable staff who know their stuff and seem to understand your requirements too. Even though I had found the right pair of walking boots I was also advised to check another pair and stuck with the original Seem to have a good range of products and sizes in store Certain discounts are available (though not on stuff that is already reduced) such as being a member of the Ramblers Association (just remember to take your card to have evidence of your entitlement of the discount) All other walking stores in the area did not appear to have the choice or staff available

Awesome staff! They helped me with my questions and even wrote down some recommendations to have a look online. If you need help to decide, the will have your back. Totally recommend to go there!

Excellent staff, needed some new hiking boots and got properly fitted and measured up, good advice from someone clearly knowledgeable. Worth knowing what memberships get you discount as shop prices are high but get discounts with the likes of BMC/MTA.
