Amazing range of wines for a small shop, with some good budget options. Beer section worth a look although mainly overpriced tins of craft ale. The range of German beers is still good.

3/ 5

The reviews seem quite polarised between “great shop / selection” and “poor treatment by staff” and I have to say my experience also reflects both – hence 3 stars. On the good side: You will find interesting drinks (wines spirits vermouth port beers etc), wide ranging, well described, moderately priced. On the down side, I've been more or less chased out of the shop for daring to still be there several minutes before their stated closing time, and have chosen to ignore edgy comments, passive aggressive sighs and such from the staff there. In fact it is quite reassuring to note from other reviewers that it isn’t just one or two of us somehow provoking this treatment, but seems to be served out generally to all. So if you’re thick skinned enough to ignore it and take no offence, you’ll find a great wine shop / off licence! Which in my book deserves supporting – local retail and all that. And you can carry your bottles home without the unnecessary plastic packaging many online retailers use. But, if management reads this, honestly, you could improve your reputation so much by just treating people a liiiiiiiitle bit more like you’d hope to be treated when you’re out shopping yourselves.
