1/ 5

This is my opinion, based on reviewing the complete email chain I have between solicitors and estate agents. Corfield’s were my vendor’s soliciitor when I recently bought a house. Corfield’s proved inordinately frustrating to me, my solicitor, the estate agent and - I suspect - their own clients. This was due, in my view, to Corfield’s very slow, unresponsive service. In fact, on one occasion their client asked them to speed up and respond more quickly - but sadly nothing changed and they continued to be abjectly slow. For example, it once took them over two weeks to respond to a request from my solicitor, a request for paperwork that they had in their possession the whole time. On the day of exchange, the vendors told them to exchange… but they didn’t (due to an inconsequential issue that Corfield’s suddenly dreamt up that afternoon, having never previously discussed it) and they did not respond to phone calls. I would never apooint Corfield’s, and I’d be very concerned if they were one of the solicitors in any future sale I was involved with as their tardiness causes stress for all concerned. One person at the estate agent told me a number of their clients were experiencing frustrations with Corfield’s slowness, while another told me they’d never experienced anything like their exchange day nonsense in 20 years of house sales. In summary: highly not recommended.
