So myself and my husband arrived after our wedding reception last night. To be informed we couldn't stay as a mistake on there part with booking. I rung in the day to let them know we will check in late. They said fine. To be left in tears on my wedding day we also paid for longer vhevking out and breakfast but when the guy finally found us a room not one that was booked for us he then made me feel so in easy that I didn't want to go for breakfast n get that we had to be out early. Then on checking out the lady said it was all correct and that we had late check out I was so upset I warned to go

The staff are just fantastic! We recently held a charity event at The Copthorne and were deeply grateful to the entire team, nothing was too much trouble and they were always on the ball. So impressed that we are now planning a much larger event here. Prices are reasonable and packages flexible. Highly recommended.

Staff were helpful kind thoughtful and chatty. I was alone most of the time and it helped to know someone else had a little time to chat. The room was comfortable clean and suited my needs. I loved the lake and the views in spite of the hotel being in a very busy area.

Positives: The staff were very pleasant and happy to answer questions. A lovely looking venue. Dinner was very tasty, best thing about my stay! Conveniently located for my business trip. Negatives: I'm very surprised that The Copthorne is considered a 4-Star Hotel. The room I stayed in was dusty (surfaces, lamps, mirrors, TV, remote, telephone, curtains, windows, chair, cupboard), and there were streaks left on the surfaces which were quickly wiped down for the next guest (me). The desk and table were sticky in places, so I wiped everything down with anti-bacteria wipes. There were two towels in the bathroom which did not seem to be clean, and the previous guests soap was still found beside the shower. One of the bulbs above the sink would constantly flicker. Breakfast was fine, nothing special, was acceptable, but the juice that is served is very watered-down, and the coffee that was served was possibly the worst I have ever tasted. The water tasted like it had been over-boiled in a burnt pot. Not a bad place overall, but not what I was expecting, or should have accepted.

Attended a wedding for the whole day. Ceremony was lovely and pretty! The sit down meal was great with soup starters, chicken dinner mains and a cheesecake for dessert. It was lovely with champagne for the toasts and wine on the table. The evening buffet was nice too. Great day over all.
