Thanks to all the staff . From the moment you walk in friendly and very caring. I had an umbilical hernia operation. Before, during, and aftercare is amazing. The anesistist marrik I think his name is was brilliant. Calmed my nerves with his funny sence of humour. Doctor bognar. Top surgeon thankyou. And the nurses and receptionists fantastic.....Thanks again.

I had a endoscopy procedure this afternoon. I was very nervous as I haven't had this done before..the Dr and staff were nothing short of fantastic and exceptionally professional. They were very reassuring and empathetic..also the nurse who spoke to me while in recovery room was wonderful I didn't get her name unfortunately.

I was referred to the Cobalt hospital for unbilical Hernia repair in early 2020. After multiple GPs and and an ultrasound confirmed my abdominal hernia the surgeon was reluctant to operate (as he couldn't feel anything) After months of waiting and repeat visits to see the surgeon he eventually agreed to operate. Surgery went well and he found 2 hernias. The information provided for my aftercare and findings was immediately given after the operation and I was still groggy with the general anaesthetic, meaning I retained little. Mr Bognar and the team were otherwise professional, efficient and put me at ease on the day of the surgery. I healed well, however the pain has started again in may of this year. The GP suspects my 2 hernias have recurred. I have been referred back to the cobalt hospital this month. I am apprehensive that it will take another 6 months for the surgeon to agree to operate again as I am in a great deal of pain and find day to day life difficult.

I’m leaving this review on behalf of my mam. I absolutely horrified at the aftercare she has received from this hospital. She went in for treatment on 12th July. She was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis and biopsies were taken. Currently unable to give her medication for the horrific pain she is in until the results come back. She was told 10 days for the results. She waited patiently and heard nothing. She rang and was then told 14 days. Again, she patiently waited. She called on 26/7/21 and was told they’ve had the results since Thursday 22nd and we’re waiting for the consultant to look at them. To hear the results are there and no one is doing anything about it is appalling. She is in severe pain, unable to leave the house and her mental health has suffered extremely. My cousin has called the hospital 4 times today to try and get something sorted. She was promised a call back on 3 occasions. No one called!! She was even lied too about there only being clinic days on a Tuesday. It states otherwise online? And what happened to this Tuesday? Apparently the results are on the consultants desk to look at on Tuesday 3/08/21. Why can’t a consultant simply look at these results and put my dear mam out of her misery. What’s also concerning is that these symptoms will continue to get worse the longer it’s left. She’s cried everyday and has lost her fight. Please! Someone read this and help her before it’s too late!

The Appointment itself was excellent everyone made feel very relaxed and everyone came across very professional. Sadly I can not say the same for my after care. Although the consultant told me that the treatment I was to receive was urgent neither my GP or my follow up hospital appointment have received the results of 4 biopsies, and the pictures. As the appointment was over a month ago I can't receive the operation I urgently need. C Makris

Edited. I may have been overly harsh on my previous review of Cobalt Hospital due to my own fear and anxiety and my difficulties in coping with this. In hindsight to my experience there were still a couple members of staff which I was slightly displeased over, but the rest of the staff I've interacted with have been wonderful and cannot fault how well they took care of me. Yes my first procedure was a little traumatic and it put me at unease, some things could have gone better but my second procedure went a whole lot better to the point I don't even remember it.
