The only bank I’ve ever been with, staff are always friendly and personable. The people commenting that they’ve closed a lot of their branches is true, but hardly the fault of the staff who work there and do a great job regardless :)

What were they thinking of when they redesigned this branch? Huge space; one teller because they only allowed for one position. Two people managing the queue, who could otherwise serve customers if only they had a counter to work from. Certainly frustrates the customers and probably the staff too, who have to struggle with the ridiculous setup to do their job.

How to lose the will to live. This singular Virgin/Clydesdale branch left in Edinburgh has 1 counter to serve personal and business banking. They have lots of staff. I currently can count 4 on the floor doing nothing. Just asking if they can help everyone. Of course they can't help because people are here to do their banking and trendiest in jeans and trainers and gelled hair can't help. You need counters manned by tellers. I will soon close my 2 business accounts here and move to a bank that puts customer service as the only priority. Not setting up a bank like a coffee shop with imbicile pretending to be helpful. Constantly furious with this sh1tsh0w

I had to take two very elderly ladies (97 & 84) to the George Street branch today to sort out some stuff. The staff member I spoke to was both unhelpful and completely lacking in empathy, with a pretty poor attitude! You’re unable to book an appointment beforehand and I was told the poor ladies would have to wait around 25 minutes to be seen, or we could come back. As I also had to take them to HSBC, I suggested we could go there first, if the staff member could book us an appointment for half an hour. I was told this wouldn’t be possible and they’d just have to take their chances and she doesn’t make the rules! What a disgusting way to treat anyone, let alone two elderly ladies who’ve been banking with them for many years! When we went to HSBC, they couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful - a complete contrast to the disgraceful service received from Virgin Money

Having been a Clydesdale Bank business customer for years my account was transferred to this branch.

2/ 5

Having been a Clydesdale Bank business customer for years my account was transferred to this branch. Since then I have received diabolical service when I visit the branch to do my banking. On every occasion I have been asked to sit and wait for someone to serve me which usually takes about 20 mins or more while other staff seem to be wandering about doing nothing. What has happened to the old fashioned teller counter which worked more efficiently?
