An institution in Bristol since 1935 and still going 84 years later. Several items including the Clarks Pie, Clarks Pasty, Flaky Pasty, Sausage Roll and so on. I am a fan of the Clarks Pasty. As they say shortcrust pastry, beef, potato and carrots. Filling, with thick crispy pastry and with a rich taste that always reminds me of a Beef Casserole but dry. Best recommended to eat on a plate with a knife and fork. Rather recommended if you need something hot in winter and they do heat up in the Microwave well. There is a substantial step to negotiate from the pavement but for the less able-bodied Clarks do help. Sold as they say in about 200 outlets. Chances are a takeaway in Bristol, most likely something from Clarks is on the menu. Can get very busy at times, especially on Match Days at Ashton Gate so there can a queue to get in. Open only to the afternoons so no chance of getting one directly in the evening. There are a number usually available hot depending on how early you get there or how busy they are. Recently they are able to accept card payments including contactless but mostly people pay cash. At times I find a Clarks Pasty makes a nice alternative to a burger or sandwich. By far my favourite pasty.
