A nice stop along the lovely Clarendon Way walk. The palace is mostly just flints and a basic outlin

A nice stop along the lovely Clarendon Way walk. The palace is mostly just flints and a basic outline now, but there is still a large section of wall to see, along with some good informative signs. There are also some alpacas in the field, so be careful if walking with a dog

Whilst the ruins are interesting, but basic, the walk to them from Salisbury is really lovely. There are information points giving the history of the ruins. I usually walk past them but for the first time today, I walked through them. To be honest, the highlight was meeting the resident llamas. Softly softly, and I was allowed a little stroke.

What a unique and peaceful place! You can feel the important historical events that happened there all those centuries ago. The problem is that it's Salisbury's best guarded secret! There aren't any signs to the Palace ~ you have to know it's there. Surely for such an important monument it needs greater publicity. The llamas are fabulous by the way 🦙
