Been seeing Gill at City Cuts for years and never a bad hair cut. She’s got a lovely personality and great sense of humour - hope she’s treated well by management as she has quite a following and we wouldn't want to lose her. She's probably one of the best around. City cuts is very reasonably priced and I know the other stylists are good according to locals that use the salon. My son uses it too having tried a few barbers/hair salons locally and has always been happy with his hair and the fair price.

Managed to get a next-day appointment for a wash, cut and dry. I didn’t catch the name of my hairdresser but she was a delight - sat me down on time, was very attentive and did a fantastic job of listening to what I wanted before expertly cutting and styling my hair. She was very gentle and thorough in her work, and I will definitely be coming back - absolutely in love with my new look!

I have been reliably informed by a friend that the staff in this establishment enforce a gender-based pricing policy regardless of the type of haircut being requested. It seems ludicrous to me that a person whom the staff members deem to be male should receive a haircut at different price to a person whom the staff members deem to be female. Especially considering the fact that these two people could have the same haircut/hairlength upon entering the salon and be requesting the same haircut. In fact, I would go as far as to say that this policy could constitute discrimination under the Equality Act 2010 where consumers IE a male with short hair and a female with short hair are being denied equal treatment and provision of service due to their gender, a protected characteristic under the aforementioned legislation. I would therefore urge the management of the establishment to look into their policies on this matter and ensure that their policies do comply with the law and do not encourage discrimination. I hope this issue can be resolved.

A great, reasonably-priced wash and cut by a competent stylist who knew the right way to handle my hair. Have been coming here for many years and they keep the same high standards.

I've been coming here for five years now, and I'm relieved that with the opening back up of the city and our offices, I can come back. I've not had a good haircut at any of the places I've tried near home. I've always had a consistently good haircut here -- one that doesn't look too severe or shaved like a barber. A tidy and trendy haircut at a good price, that is done with care and attention.

First discovered City Hair over 10 years ago when a hairdresser left me with orange instead of blonde highlights. Terry sorted out that mess back then and he has been doing my highlights every since. Hands down, THE best hairdresser for highlights, great colouring and neatly placed highlights. So natural! Very professional service overall, fair prices, added bonus is the loyalty card.
