Pleasant views across the lake through the glass walls. Easy access to a balcony for a closer look. Great woodland setting with log cabins. Afternoon tea ess just right. Some places include a bit too much stodge. Chocolate dipped strawberries were excellent. There was a wedding taking place at the time. Their photos would have been stunning.

Wow, really enjoyed our night away here. Big thanks too all the staff who are amazing, helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The 3 course meal we had was fantastic, tasty, a credit to the kitchen staff and chef. Breakfast was very good as well. The location was so relaxing we will definitely return and bring the dog next time as they love dogs, The wood cabin was great thought it would be stuffy as we had hot weather, but surprisingly nice and cool. Didn't get chance to use the spa but will next time. Thanks for a great night.

Really outdated and dirty! The bathroom was terrible, the rooms were super dark and dusty... DO NOT buy the breakfast, it was dry and tasteless (apart from expensive). In addition, is a total rip off. The only thing that saves it is the beautiful surroundings and nature. But if you don't want to waste your money, avoid it!

Food was very poor inedible. Most staff looked overworked and not very happy or polite. The restaurant manager was very helpful and understanding when we made a complaint about the food. Went for a quiet break from our caring role and was faced by 2 weddings taking place and the place been taken over by the wedding parties. This was a return visit for us before the new owners took over. On the 1st visit the food was 1st class, cooked by Liam who is still the head chef but it seems that the food is being brought in. What a waste of his talent. Most offerings looked like a cow pat and my soup was so overflavoured with spice it nearly blew my head off. It seems like the new owners need to decide what they want to offer. They can't be all things to all people. One positive was that the cabins were spotless the cleaners worked hard and were 1st class. Got a refund for the food but we left a day early as the overall experience was not good.

We stayed for three nights on the Christmas package and were blown away. We were a bit nervous after seeing some reviews but couldn’t find anything the negative reviewers had mentioned. The cabin was beautiful, warm and the bed was really comfy - it had all the amenities you’d expect and need. The hotel itself was so cosy and the staff are super helpful and friendly. The restaurant had delicious food that always arrived hot and well presented. The pool and spa were amazing, we spent ages in the outside hot tub (even in the snow!) and it was sublime. There were so many lovely extra touches, like our towel was shaped like a snowman and staff going out of their way to make your time special. I couldn’t recommend it enough and we’ll certainly be back!

Remember to use Hᴏᴛᴇʟʙᴜʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏᴍ when booking a hotel. This web site will compare countless hotel sites and normally will have rooms much cheaper compared to others! You're welcome :)! This place is one of the highest rated in the area. I have been coming here for a long time. If you decide to stay here you will love it I'm sure! Loved it here and the lady on reception was great. Can't remember her name but she's having a baby and think she's the new manager. She run the place all on her own more or less. So a massive well done to her.

Laughable ! How can a hotel in such great location be that terrible ? From start to finish - cold receptionist, double room so dated it hurts your eyes, the worth shower EVER, drunk guests just running everywhere & shouting (you can hear everything from your bedroom so that’s nice and relaxing !). My partner & I ended up going into a spar at 10pm post dinner to buy something to eat as the food they serve you - again - LAUGHABLE !! Can’t tell if the chef is 15yo and unskilled or 50yo and couldn’t be bothered. Waitresses sweet but so so so young & unskilled it’s just depressing. I paid £200 for one night and never felt that robbed. Can’t wait to go home for a nap and a shower (writing this from my room as impossible to sleep due to -wedding guests?- vomiting next door. At least the risotto is presented warm this time around.)

The spa was so disappointing. It was dirty and the changing room is very small and dated with limited working lockers. The massage was good but the level of professionalism does not compare to experiences at other spas I have been to. I would not recommend or return again.
